Bible Lesson Five“You Will Reap What You Sow”

Seeds can ONLY grow after the kind of plant, tree, or flower it camefrom. In other words, a corn seed can only produce corn. You can't getokra from a bean seed. God made the plants to have seeds that produceafter its kind. Read: Genesis 1:11,12

What is the law of sowing and reaping? James 3:12 “Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either avine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.”

Galatians 6:7-9 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever aman soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his fleshshall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall ofthe Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing:for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

What does it mean to sow to the flesh? To sow to the flesh is to sow seeds of sin. Sow to the flesh is opposite ofsowing to Spirit. If I watch, read, listen to, or think on sinful things, andeven hang out with sinful people, I am sowing to the flesh. Proverbs 22:8 “He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity [trouble]: andthe rod of his anger shall fail.”

Psalms 101:3 “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate thework of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.”

Psalms 26:4,5 “I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in withdissemblers. 5 I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will notsit with the wicked.”

What does a person reap who sows to his flesh? CorruptionGalatians 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which arethese; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry,witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of thewhich I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that theywhich do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Revelation 21:8 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable,and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and allliars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire andbrimstone: which is the second death.”
