1. This is what the NKJV says. The KJV says: “The former treatise I made” It is the same idea anyway. The NASB says: “The former account I composed” The idea, of all of these Bible versions is that before Acts was written there was another one already in place.

When Luke is talking about apostles; we must understand that outside of these ones that Jesus chose, there are NO other apostles...The presumption of some to call themselves “apostles” is only that presumption! Jesus did not recognize:

One of the requisites to being an apostle of Jesus was to be a witness of His baptism, and also of his resurrection...Peter says that this is the proof, for a real witness or apostle...Acts 1:21,22...Acts 1:21,22...

Jesus shows his disciples many proofs that He was the same before and after His crucifixion and Luke says that He showed many infallibleinfallible proofs! Which ones?Which ones?

Infallible---From the Greek (tekmerion)...It doesn’t appear anywhere else but here and the idea is: convincing, decisively proof!

The word proofs---from the Greek (tekmeriois) means positive proof; infallible proof; convincing proof; sure signs and ways... There is no doubt that he came from death, He is alive!

The KJV says “After his passion” The word “passion” (phatein) means “suffering; it refers to the suffering or death of Christ. His death and resurrection assured the salvation of man. By death He paid the penalty for man’s sin.

This is not WATER BAPTISM! It is a PROMISE!

Baptism... Is Luke using the same Baptism... Is Luke using the same word for water baptism?word for water baptism?

It is the exact same word, but they would not be immersed in water but in the HOLY SPIRIT!

Acts 1:6...(a) “Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”

This gathering is totally different from the one mentioned in verse 4...

They are tired, they are confused and they don’t want ROME in their country anymore...

The apostles’ question is not surprising. They are confused, and they had been expecting Jesus to do something like this for them...

11Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately.

ActsActsThe reviling thing is this: The disciples were still thinking about earthly terms, about a Physical messiah!

The confusion was probably due to the promise that Jesus made unto them, that they would sit on 12 thrones to judge the tribes of Israel.

Matthew 19:27-30... “27Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?” 28So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29“And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. 30“But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

Jesus will NOT set up a KINGDOM in this world anymore, as the Premillenialists believe and teach!

With this question, what the disciples were asking was:

Position and influence------------Recognition and prestige.Authority and power--------------Rule and reignMoney and possessions---------The material and the Physical.

Who is a witness?Who is a witness?A bystander, eyewitness, observer, somebody who sees something, somebody who saw or heard something that happened and it gives evidence about it.

Are Jehovah witnesses, Witnesses?

Mary was a true believer!

She was keeping many things about her son in her heart and here she proved to be a real believer.

Unless a person is truly saved, sanctified, he is not acceptable to God It is not enough:

1. To claim and profess God.

2. To hold an official office in the church.

3. To be the evangelist or leader.

4. To be faithful church member.

5. To associate with others.

6. To be effective in the ministering.

Judas was among the twelve! Don’t be deceived, people can be among us, but they don’t necessarily have to be a part of us...

Judas also obtained part in the ministry, Peter said... But what Ministry?

The ministry (Service) of the twelve!

It was an Honor to be counted among the twelve, among Jesus’ followers. There were many who fulfilled the ministry better than Judas but the Honor was for him, and he missed it!!

The wages of iniquity... What was that?

Did Judas buy the Field? That’s exactly what Peter says:

This is all that Mathew says, but Luke added more info when he mentioned that he even split opened in the middle and all his entrails gushed out...
