ACTTs PROFESSIONAL ACTOR PROGRAM is a unique three year vocational
Advanced Diploma course, incorporating Australias most advanced studio-
based Acting Training System designed to hone the skills of talented
students who wish to pursue a career as professional actors in film,
television and theatre. The ACTT approach to actor training is uniquely
adaptable to the individual actors needs and performance circumstances.
Developed and refined over many years, both the course content and the
mix of classes and productions are tailored so that students achieve
superior, impacting performances in theatre or film and television.
COURSE STRUCTURE
YEAR 1: Instrument Preparation:The Actor Begins to Prepare
Studio-based training centred on the Eric Morris complete system of acting
training and Meyerhold movement technique forms the fundamental
concept of The ACTT System of actor training. It involves deep
preparation of the mind, body and voice. Through this in-depth training,
students develop the capacity to reach a state of free and open awareness
necessary to deliver truly breathtaking performances. It requires
knowledge of the vocal and physical apparatus, as well as the skills to
identify and release tensions that impede affectability and responsiveness.
Instrument preparation is a complex skill that requires a great deal of
technical learning and practice. When an actors instrument is prepared, it
provides emotional access and presence to connect themselves to all kindsof texts and character choices.
YEAR 2: Performance Preparation:The Actors Craft
The Actors Craft comprises the techniques used to identify the
requirements of a specific script, text or production in rehearsal. Craft
synthesises the skills and knowledge an actor requires when developing a
systematic approach to a text. The ACTT craft process provides an
approach that is versatile, comprehensive and reliable to create
repeatable, impacting and authentic performances, regardless of the
performance context and whether on-screen or the stage. (Diploma of
