The adapter is necessary as there is no global standard on power connections/voltage etc. It could be

questioned whether this will every be achieved?- what would it be? A current universal connection for

powering small electronics is the USB port connection.

of attaching/ un-attaching, clustered sockets,

less forgettable (so not left behind).
