Exiting the Bus or a Vehicle

If you are dropped off or drive to school, please

have your mask on when you exit the vehicle and

enter the building.

Where do I Enter the Building?Regular Entrance

If you are a middle school student (who does NOT eat breakfast at school), you will enter through the MS entrance between the library entrance and the athletic entrance. You will then follow the foot traffic arrows and go directly

to your seminar class.

Breakfast EntranceIf you eat breakfast at school, you will enter through the MS/HS entrance

and then you will go directly to the cafeteria and will follow the social distancing markings while picking up your breakfast.

Once you have been through the breakfast line you will then report to the “Choir” room to sit and eat your breakfast. When you are finished, you'll be dismissed to go directly to your seminar class, following the traffic arrows.

Hallway TrafficThroughout the hallways, there will be arrows and signs placed to help remind you of the flow of foot traffic. It is

very important that you remain on one side of the hallway and follow the arrows. The high school hallway will

follow two way traffic rules. Use the right-hand side.

In the middle school, the flow of traffic will enter through the doors by Mrs. Cornett’s classroom and when you exit the classrooms you will head to the left and walk all the way around the horseshoe to exit out the doors by Mr.

Colson’s classroom.

The hallway between the MS boys and girls bathroom will not be used for foot traffic.

Hand sanitizer will be placed throughout the hallways. Please use as

needed.

Bathrooms and Drinking Fountains

Bathrooms will be accessible as needed. Bathrooms have been set up to allow social distancing. Every other sink is

available as well as every other urinal. Bathroom stalls are all accessible. Hand dryers have been replaced with paper towel dispensers. It is important to wash your hands for 20

seconds with soap and water after using the restroom.

Entering and Exiting ClassroomsEntering the Classrooms:

Try to keep 6 ft. between you and the other students entering the classroom. It is important to remember that as soon as you enter the classroom your

teachers will have a system put in place for you to be able to use the hand sanitizer. Your teachers may also require you to wipe down the desk upon

entering. As soon as you enter the classroom please have a seat, place your backpack on the back of the chair and remain facing forward. Do not rearrange

the seating unless you have been given permission from the teacher.

Exiting the Classrooms:When exiting the classrooms, it is important to keep 6 ft. between you and the

other students. Once you have exited the classroom, please follow the direction of the traffic. Before exiting the classroom, your teacher may have a

system in place that will require desks to be wiped down before exiting the classroom.

6th Grade SpecialsStudents will be receiving their instruction for specials from the elementary specials teachers. The elementary specials teachers will be coming up to the

secondary building to provide instruction to eliminate cross contamination. This year 6th-grade specials are on a 12 week rotation.

PE with Mr. GietekStudents will meet Mr. Geitek in the Performance Gym, and he will escort

them all to the Elementary gymnasium

Music with Mrs. BlackReport to the MS/HS band room

LunchStudents will be assigned a seat on the first day of school in Seminar Class, and that is their seat until further notice. MS students will be sectioned off into sections by grade. Students will have the option of being on a rotation to sit outside weather permitting.

When entering the cafeteria, students will go to their assigned seats and will wait to be dismissed to get in line for lunch. Once in line for lunch, please follow the social

distancing signs.

Students are to sanitize their hands upon entering the lunch line and will need to provide their first and last name to the cashier. It is best to have money deposited in

the students account to help speed up the lunch line. Students will have the option of a cold lunch or hot lunch. There will not be an a-la carte available at this time.

A.M.H.P.S

It takes a small amount of time and effort to help our children, whether it is attending a meeting, helping in the concession stand, volunteering to help with a

fundraiser, helping with our honor roll sundae bar, or any of the many other activities that go on during the school year.

We will need volunteers to work in the concession stand (indoor concession). The concession stand is where we make our money that we use for the

students, whether it is money to help buy new equipment, books, or help with class trips.

Even though concessions are for sporting events, you do NOT need to have a student athlete to help out.

We appreciate ALL volunteers and the money earned is not just for the athletes:

6th Grade Parent Advisory Group

It is our goal this year to help provide parents with a place to share ideas, concerns, and positive experiences with us all. As the new school year begins, we will be offering our Addison families a chance to meet together to establish a Middle School Parent Advisory Committee. The overall goal is to facilitate discussion around issues relevant to this age-group and identify ways that our school community can be of assistance. First meeting will be September 10th, 2020 via Zoom at 6:00.

Medication Policy

What Happens if I feel Sick during the Day?

All medications (both prescription and

non-prescription) must be brought to school by an adult

and turned in to the office. Over the counter medication

cannot be distributed without a doctor’s

prescription.

No medications are permitted on the school bus.

Exceptions include: emergency medications,

inhalers, diabetic medications, and allergy

medications with appropriate documentation.

Absences Add Up:

Students who have unexcused absences between 5 and 8

times per marking period will lose 5% of their grade.

9 or more absences will result in a 10% reduction of the grade.*The reduction is applied to the grade prior to the exam grade being factored into the final grade for the semester.*

School SafetyAll entrances to the building are locked. At 8:00 am the Elementary and Secondary inside doors will be locked.

Please use the main entrance when entering the building; get the attention of the office staff to enter and then sign in

to get a visitor’s pass.

School cameras are placed throughout the hallways and outside to ensure the safety and security of all students.

NEVER open a door to let ANYONE in. Everyone must use the main entrance to ensure safety of

the school.

of others
