This has been a hard and difficult preaching plan to put together and I'm greatly
indebted to the hard work behind the scenes of our administrator, Caroline. Had it
been left to me it wouldn't have even reached this stage!
As we enter the summer months without Revds Sue and Lew and also without Revd
Jimi (sabbatical) our human resources are stretched further than before. My thanks
to those preachers who've offered more services than they would usually offer and
my thanks to those Churches who have (voluntarily in most cases) shared services
with neighbouring Churches. You will also observe that there are two Circuit Services
(Pentecost and Lew/Sue's leaving service). They will both be services of Holy
Communion. All of this has gone a long way to easing the burden.
However, you will notice that there are still Local Arrangements for Churches to fulfil.
Ann and Steve Dobson have kindly produced an act of worship which once they've
used can be loaned out to worship leaders for further use. Maybe other preachers
would like to offer a similar resource.
We are in turbulent waters at the moment but I am an optimist and have begun plans
for shared Ministry, shared sections and a new way of thinking from September 2018.
Please pray for your staff and Circuit Leadership as we pray through what God is
asking of us.
Finally, I want to thank Revds Sue and Lew for all they've given to this Circuit through
their fresh ways of thinking, their leadership, their leading if Worship and throughout
their Ministry. May God bless them and their families richly in their future Ministries.
Please come and say farewell at their leaving service (along with Donna Broadbent-
Kelly) at Uttoxeter on July 16th. It's a great opportunity to show the love of the Trent
and Dove Circuit.
