Preparing Students for the
AADSAS Application Process
1. Research dental schools with the help of a prehealth advisor and discuss which schools are a good fit.
2. Submit the ADEA AADSAS Application early, as the application process can take up to six weeks.
3. Collect copies of all transcripts and have them available for reference.
4. Confirm individuals who will be providing letters of evaluation.
5. Write a strong personal statement.

6. Be honest throughout the application process.
7. Volunteer work and job shadowing.
8. Review your application for errors before submitting.
9. Apply early! Most dental schools have earlier deadline.
10. Monitor the status of your AADSAS application.
Advise students to do the following:
Letters of Evaluation
• Applicants may submit a maximum of four individual letters of evaluation or one committee letter/report plus the option of one additional individual letter.
• Letters of evaluation submitted in two formats:
– Electronic
– Paper
• There are two types of letters that evaluators can submit:
– Individual (count as 1)
– Composite (count as 3)

After May 5, AADSAS reports applicants who are holding more than one seat.
Schools may rescind offers after a 15-day response period.
