VACANCY – CNC PROGRAMMER(INTERNAL/EXTERNAL)

DEPARTMENT: Production JOB LEVEL: 4.5
PURPOSE OF JOB
Maintenance of production machine to an acceptable engineering standard to ensure good machine production rate.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Configuration control of programs. Develop NC Programs for CNC machines. Update and improvement proposals of processes. Input to manufacture-ability of components. Designing of processes. Usage of tooling. Provide basic machine control training to artisans.
CRITICAL SKILLS
CNC Programming skills. Organising and planning skills of operations and processes. Proven process and tool design skills. Manufacturing skills (set-ups, tools selection, etc). Must have good work ethics Must have good communication skills Must possess analytical ability to apply experience and knowledge to written programs and
procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Artisan N3 with Mathematics. National Diploma Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage. Advanced CNC programming and setting certificate. Five to seven years programming experience. Course in Quality. SHE. Must be able to:
Conduct drawing interpretation and program CNC machine in accordance with issued drawings.
Operate CNC machines Create CAD drawings. Use conventional and G codes as well as working experience on CADCAM. Sequence job for correct shaping operations per drawing and process. Do offsets and set machine for production.
Milling machines in operation are MH80, MV80, MH63, Okuma and Butler Turning machines in operation are SL6 and Solon
