LESSONS LEARNT FROM THE TRAINING PROGRAMME
� Lack of awareness on Disaster management at all levels.
� District Disaster Management Plans prepared by the districtadministrations needs to be properly updated by involving all linedepartments.
� Most of the Officers are unaware about Disaster Management Act2005 & availability of DDMPs.
� Taluk/Community level participants demands more no. of trainings forawareness generation and for preparation of taluk/village level plans.awareness generation and for preparation of taluk/village level plans.
� SATCOM training programme on Community Based DisasterManagement progamme is very successful & could reach > 3000participants in three days.
� District/Area specific disaster training programme have helped intraining more nos. of participants at local level.
� Training methods like Filed study, Group work & Presentation, ActionPlan preparation were very much fruitful to the participants.
FEEDBACK FROM THE PARTICIPNATS
� Disaster management training programmes is an eye opener for the allstakeholders for the management of disaster situations.
� Disaster Management training programme are very informative andshould be conducted at all level.
� Training on DDMPs is very useful & has given a broad idea for thepreparation of DDMPs.
� Community based disaster management awareness through STACOM� Community based disaster management awareness through STACOMtraining is extremely helpful & should be frequently conducted tocommunity level people.
� Disaster management training programmes should be extended totaluk/village level people for the preparation of taluk/village level plans.
� More focused training on individual/area specific disasters managementprogrammes would help in preparation of individual plans.
� Filed visit for HRVC analysis, Group exercise & presentations are moreuseful.

� Amount being given for library books is very less.

PROBLEMS
� Action research not possible with the funds available.
� No Faculty was deputed to outside Seminar/Training
from CDM, Mysore.
� The funds available for training i.e., Rs.42,000/- for
three days and Rs.63,000/- for five days are not
sufficient as lot of field visit is involved. This may be
raised to Rs.60,000/- for three days and Rs.85,000/-
for five days.
