Welcome to the Australian International School, Dhaka. We are delighted to inform you that your child ____________________________ will now embark on his/her educational journey with our school. Much like your child, you will also become a part of the Australian International School community. Your role as a parent is vital to the educational development of your child. Listed below are some of the rules and responsibilities we require all parents to follow as a member of the Australian International Community. Please read through carefully and sign your name below as a commitment to the school for the benefit of your child’s education. Parents Information and Responsibilities
The Australian International School is a full immersion English medium school. English is the principal language of instruction, social and playground interaction.
A condition of acceptance of enrolment is that the student will wear school uniform at all times inside the school premises, other than those designated as free dress day.
Classroom and extra-curricular activities may involve travel off the school site. Parents will receive full details of these activities in advance, and will be required to give signed consent beforehand that will allow their child to participate (travel off-site).
The Australian International School undertakes to carry out the educational program in the best interests of the students, but reserves the right to deny admission or exclude an existing student if incorrect information regarding the student has been supplied on enrolment.
The academic curriculum of instruction for Year 1-10 is the Australian National curriculum and Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) for Year 11 and 12.
Students must turn the correct age for the class year during the school year of 1st August to 31st July.
A condition of acceptance of enrolment is that all students from Year: 1-9 will actively partake in Bangla language classes in school as the secondary language other than English.
Parents and students are required to accept that swimming is a compulsory activity and all students will participate in swimming lessons.

All parents must attend the three-way conference with their child on the time that is scheduled for them on the newsletter sent from the teacher where student academic progress is discussed. Note that report cards will be provided only at a three-way conference.
Parents should check to make sure that they receive the monthly school newsletter. Therefore it is advised to occasionally inquire regarding letters and notices from the school from their children. If the letters are lost, extra copies can be picked up from the front desk executive.
Parents must ensure that their child attend school on a regular basis. The Australian International School promotes a policy of 95% attendance and punctuality. Inability to adhere to this rule may result in the possible withdrawal of your child from the school.
Parents are advised that The Australian International School discourages parents scheduling family holidays during term times and that such absences are unlikely to be approved.
The Student Agenda serves as tool to improve communication between home and school. Parents must check and sign the student agenda at the end of each week to ensure that all homework is completed and communication between home and school are understood by both parents and the teacher. There are also blank pages to staple or write important notices. After receiving each notice the parent needs to sign to acknowledge the notice.
In the event that a student is unable to attend school parents are required to contact the Front Desk Executive between 8:00 am and 8:15 am and state the reasons why the student is unable to come to school.
