Role of the Admission Forum
• Responsible for seeking to promote agreements on arrangements for dealing with a range of difficult issues, including how to ensure vulnerable children are effectively provided for in admission agreements.

Learning the Lessons from a Serious Case Review
• Voluntary organisations need Child Protection Training and need procedures in place.
• Guidance to schools on vulnerability of newly arrived children so that they can access services.
• Improved tracking for casual admission applicants
• Appoint a mobile pupils attendance and welfare officer.
New Requirements for Tracking Missing Pupils
• All LEAs to have a robust tracking system by 2005
• Provide full-time education for all casual admissions
New Provision to Meet Needs
• Pilot ESOL programme Lewisham College and 2 Mainstream secondary schools - 1½ day language support on school site.
• KS4 Project from January 2005 - ½ term in induction followed by mainstream integration.
• Individual programmes with Lewisham College
Community Support
• Supplementary schools in Lewisham for past 20 years
• 30 supplementary schools currently in Lewisham
• Since 2002 Community sector unit has supported 23 groups
