CAPITAL CAMPAIGN & THE CATHOLIC APPEAL

The Holy Mothers Collaborative is currently in the planning stages of a capital campaign. As such, our collaborative will not have a Catholic Appeal mailing or InPew appeal in March like the rest of the Archdiocese.Instead, a portion of our donations to the capital campaign this spring will go towards the 2018 Catholic Appeal. Please be on the lookout for more information about the campaign in the coming weeks and months. Thank you!

Dear parishioners,

On behalf of Father Bill, Deacon John, Deacon Roger, and the staff of the Holy Mothers Collaborative, I would like to wish you all a happy Easter! I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to serve you as your pastor. In my opinion, we are one of the most successful collaboratives in the Archdiocese of Boston, and that is because of you the parishioners. You have completely embraced the idea of radical hospitality, and we are a truly welcoming environment thanks to you.

It is sometimes the case that Easter brings back some who have been away. If that is the case, welcome back! We pray you feel God’s love in our community. If there is anything that we can do to help you reunite at God’s holy altar, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Our Lenten journey has given way to the Easter season. Let us rejoice and live in the joy of the Risen Lord!

“BEING MORTAL” SERIES

Thank you to Father Mike McNamara, who celebrated our Mass and Healing Service in February. His message to us was to remember to keep God first in our lives. The scribes and the Pharisees in the Gospel thought highly of themselves, loved praise, and wanted their good works to make everyone notice how pious they were. Jesus tells us not to follow the way of the Pharisees, but to humble ourselves and practice putting others first.

Our next Mass and Healing Service will be on April 24 at 7:15 p.m. at Saint Mary’s. Father Joe McDermott will be our celebrant. Come join us and experience the healing power of Jesus. All are welcome! For more information, please contact Barbara Tobin at(781) 8264955.

Dates to Remember:April 3 Prep Day for Grade 2 ParentsApril 8 First Grade MassApril 9 Make Up Prep for Grade 2 ParentsApril 9 to 12 Bible Olympics (Last Week of Class)

Summer Religious Ed: We will offer this again for Grades 3, 4, and 5. The dates have not been set yet, as it will depend on the actual last day of school in Hanover and Norwell. Please stay tuned.

Attention Second Grade Parents: Our Prep Day

will be on Tuesday, April 3 at Saint Mary’s Parish Center. We ask that you plan ahead so that you can accompany your child throughout their regular, onehour class time (3:00 or 4:30). Most teachers will be attending the Prep Day with their own second grader, so it is important that you be there to participate alongside your child. The Prep Day is a special day to complete a project together, to review logistics for your child’s actual First Communion, and to give you a sneak peak at our songs. If your schedule does not allow you to attend during their regular Tuesday class time, then please join us on

Monday, April 9 at 7:15 p.m. in the hall with your child. If you are planning to attend the Monday evening session, your child should not come to class on April 3.

Easter can be very confusing to small children. It is hard for them to fully understand how some people could be so cruel to Jesus. We have explained to them that Easter is all about love and forgiveness. We realize that the children associate Easter with Bunnies, eggs, and baskets. Below you will see how the Easter bunny can be a tool to teach us about Jesus and the qualities He would like each of us to possess.

Real Easter bunnies: are white as snow because Jesus takes all sin away

(Isaiah 1:18b). are gentle, kindhearted and forgiving (Ephesians

4:32). have big ears that are quick to listen (James 1 : 1 9). have big eyes to look carefully and choose what is

good (1 Thessalonians 5:21).have no voice for complaining or arguing (Philippians

2:13).are quiet in prayer, but hop with thanksgiving and

rejoicing (Philippians 4:46). have big feet to go tell others about Jesus so they

can be like Easter bunnies, too (Matthew 28: 1920).eat what is healthy by filling up on God's word

every day (Psalm 119:11). (Kim Weir)
