The Adult Learning and Skills Service is an active partner in the North
Yorkshire Community Learning Partnership. The aim of this partnership
is to work more closely together in order to maximise and deliver
learning and skills opportunities to learners across North Yorkshire.
There are local groups in each geographic area and anyone involved in
delivering informal learning within the local community is welcome to join.
The steering group consists of colleagues from Craven College, Harrogate College,
Selby College, the Workers’ Educational Association, Yorkshire Coast College,
North Yorkshire County Council Adult Learning and Skills Service, Askham
Bryan College, Scarborough Sixth Form College and Your Consortium Ltd.
If you would like to know more about the partnership or to see what
other learning providers have to offer please visit: www.nyclp.org.uk
Aged 19 or over and thinking about further education?
Why not take out an Advanced Learning Loan?
These loans help you to pay your tuition fees.
Most learners aged 19 and over, studying at level 3 to level 6,
will qualify for these new loans from the UK government.
It is easy to apply, your household income isn’t taken
into account and there’s no credit check.
You can apply using the online application https://www.
gov.uk/advanced-learning-loans/overview
You will only start to repay once you have left the course
and are earning over £21,000 each year.
Please contact your local area office for details of level
3 to level 6 courses currently on offer.
What to do now?
With so many courses on offer, you may need help in making your choice. Whether
you are considering a complete change of career, want to learn new skills or
build on existing qualifications, the Adult Learning and Skills Service can help.
You can find out more about courses on offer across the county using
our online course finder at www.northyorks.gov.uk/coursefinder or by
contacting your local area office (see back cover for details).
