At Celtic English Academy we take care of our students’ futures as English speakers.

We want our students to have a better grasp of the English language, be accepted into their desired university and communicate more effectively with international clients.

We teach students in small groups in order to aid progression and develop English skills as much as possible, which means we can focus on your individual needs. Your classroom experience plus additional opportunities to practise the language help you to acquire English both inside and outside the classroom.

We teach English today so you can start your tomorrow

Cardiff, the beautiful capital of WalesCardiff is a great place to live and study. It offers everything you would expect from a capital city with world-class entertainment, historical sites and excellent shopping, while still being one of the cheapest places for students to live in the UK.

Cardiff is going from strength to strength as a city. It was rated the third-best capital city in Europe (Quality of Life in European Cities survey 2016) and is one of the UK’s top-ranked big cities for quality of life.

Heritage Romans, Normans and Victorians all helped shape the Cardiff that exists today. You can learn about Cardiff’s rich history at its many historical sites and museums. Cardiff Castle and the beautiful Bute Park castle grounds are only 10 minutes’ walk from the academy.

Entertainment & The Arts You find poetry in the buildings and music in the air when you visit Cardiff! You can attend live concerts by world-famous artists like Ed Sheeran, Coldplay and Justin Bieber, or enjoy classical music and drama at the Wales Millennium Centre or St. David’s Hall.

Sports Twice awarded ‘European Capital of Sport’, Cardiff has fast become a leading city for sport on an international level. The Principality Stadium hosted the 2015 Rugby World Cup and the 2017 UEFA Champions League football final!

Nightlife Cardiff has great nightlife and a well-established pub culture. If you are looking for a night out, the lively St Mary Street or Cardiff Bay are the busiest areas at the weekend.

Low Cost & Safe Cardiff is one of the best value university cities. Throughout the year regular free festivals and events take place. The Cardiff street food scene has exploded in recent years and there are many ‘pop-up’ events to enjoy. It is also one of the safest cities in the UK to live in.

Shopping Cardiff is one of Europe’s top shopping destinations. Celtic English Academy is located right in the heart of the city, only minutes away from the main shopping centres and boutique arcades.

Cardiff is one of the UK’s top-ranked big cities for quality of life and one of the best value university cities in Europe!

As a capital city, Cardiff offers the same great features and benefits as living in other major cities, but at a much lower cost.

Accommodation Students on a Youth Mobility Visa or who have an EU/EEA passport can get a job while they are in Cardiff. Cardiff offers excellent employment opportunities for students in shops, cafés, restaurants, hotels and other areas. We can help you to write your CV in English and offer advice on finding a job. The minimum wage in the UK is £7.38 per hour for people over 21.

Students that are studying for a longer time might like to open a UK bank account while in Cardiff. We can provide a letter to confirm your enrolment and UK address. You can show this letter to the bank, along with proof of your identity (passport/ID card). Most students open accounts with Santander, Barclays or Lloyds Bank.
