This five-day intensive evidence-based dentistry (EBD) course will helpyou better understand, appraise, and implement new evidence-based dental treatment and diagnostic options into your practice, curriculumor research.

Improve Clinical Decision-Making and Patient Outcomes

Course work focuses on human clinical trials addressing quantitative and qualitative outcomes, risk calculation, diagnosis, and systematic reviews. This is a hands-on learning experience, and you will be asked to bring a clinical question or problem to solve. During the five-day, intensive course, you will learn how to:

Experienced Educators

Dr. Richard Niederman is a professor and chair, Department of Epidemiology and Health Promotion, and director, Center for Evidence-Based Dentistry, NYUCD. He graduated magna cum laude from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he also received his periodontal specialty training. He received his evidence-based medicine certificate at University of Oxford and is the founding U.S. editor of the Evidence-Based Dentistry Journal.

Dr. Derek Richards is a founding member and the director of the Centre for Evidence-Based Dentistry in Oxford. In addition to teaching EBD at Oxford and around the world, he consults on dental public health and has worked in hospitals and dental practices.Dr. Richards is the current editor of the Evidence-Based Dentistry Journal and the Dental Elf Blog.

Dr. Elliot Abt received his master’s degree in evidence-based health care from University of Oxford and his dental degree and master’s degree in oral pathology from the University of Illinois. He serves on the Critical Review Panel for the ADA Center for Evidence-Based Dentistry and is a member of the ADA Council on Scientific Affairs. Dr. Abt also teaches oral medicine at the University of Illinois and is on the attending staff at Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

Dr. Analia Veitz-Keenan is a clinical associate professor in theDepartment of Oral Maxillofacial Pathology, Radiology and Medicine at NYUCD. She teaches evidence-based dentistry to undergraduate and post-graduate students, as well as coordinates and teaches EBD activities for faculty. She completed her training in Evidence-Based Practice at McMaster University in Canada, and at the Centre for Evidence-Based Dentistry in Oxford, UK.
