Summary Advanced hardware monitoring has been a key requirement for a longer period of time. With the
release of Webwasher 6.8.3 build 4533, aka 6.8.3 rev c, McAfee introduced more hardware monitoring
capabilities based on the SNMP protocol.
This document will describe the required steps to install and enabled those features and will give some
guidance or good monitoring values to look at.
It is noticeable that this has only been tested on WW1900 A,B,E and WW2900 E appliances and is not
part of the software version.
Installation of monitoring extension: On the shell, install the matching package “srvadmin-snmp”:
[root@App4 ~]# yum install srvadmin-snmp
…

To enable SMUX support in Webwasher, please execute the following on the application CLI:
set global.SNMPAgent.SMUXEnabled 1
This will allow Webwasher to communicate with previously installed srvadmin module using the snmp
SMUX interface. An additional port will be opened locally on
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:199
