GROUPCOMPANY PROFILE
With the stakes so high, governments and industry are constantly looking for cost-effective solutions to issues caused by corrosion and the aim of the A&E Group has been to provide very effective solutions in key areas of corrosion control, with a focus on innovative products and the best possible customer service.
Innovation
Both of the Group's anti-corrosion sys tems are unique, wi th properties and functions that cannot be found elsewhere. E n v i r o p e e l , a s p r a y a b l e thermoplastic coating system developed by the Group's own engineers, provides a means of protection that no other company can provide, in an area where alternatives are hard to find.
The same is true of Alocit, a coating product developed in Switzerland but acquired by the
Group because of its amazing abilities in the most difficult conditions. With a track record of successful applications in these problematic areas, it has brought new solutions to a range of age-old problems
Philosophy
Central to the Group's philosophy is the provision of an anti-corrosion toolbox with a range of solutions for problems in key areas. Tools that are exclusively available from the Group and which provide both reactive and pro-active solutions with products that are environmentally friendly, effective, affordable and easy to use. Customer relationships are f o s t e r e d t h r o u g h g o o d communications, face-to-face, by telephone and through a range of internet-based services.
The Environment
Products such as red lead paint, coal-tar epoxies and petrolatum tapes have all played a role in the past, but climate change and environmental degradation mean that the only responsible answer is to provide safe, waste-free products to replace them. And the G r o u p ' s e n v i r o n m e n t a l credentials are world-class.
Env i ropeel i s reusable, recyc lable and non-tox ic , reducing waste and pollution at work sites. Neither Enviropeel nor Alocit products contain solvents, VOCs or heavy metals and both products can safely be used in environmentally sensitive areas, making them safe now and for future generations.

Solving ProblemsCorrosion is found everywhere in industry, on pipelines, transport systems, buildings - with a cost to the world economy calculated by NACE and the US Government as 3-4% of GDP - more than US$1.6 trillion dollars and an individual annual cost of about US$300 billion in North America, $60 billion in the UK and $6 billion to Malaysia.
GROUP
Enviropeel SystemsBased on a traditional range of thermoplastics with a record of high-performance corrosion protection, Enviropeel has developed modern application and materials technology to provide a sprayable system that can provide years of protection in minutes.
Uniquely available from A&E Systems, Enviropeel provides a barrier coating that is impermeable to hostile atmospheric conditions and which provides active protection to the substrate through its built-in inhibitors. The system uses a specially-designed heating and pumping unit that takes the solid Enviropeel material, converts it to a liquid for spraying on to objects of any size or shape using temperature-controlled hoses up to 19 metres long.
Enviropeel application units vary in capacity from 5kg to 30 kg and the range includes units with intrinsically safe components for use in hazardous zone-2 areas.
System Features
?Recyclable and re-usable?Spray applied to fit any size or shape?Active corrosion inhibitors?Long-term corrosion protection?Use on already corroded areas?Easy to strip and re-apply?Non-toxic and environmentally safe?No VOCs or solvents
WORKING IN MALAYSIA ...
A&E Systems Sdn Bhd, a 60%
Bumiputra owned company has
completed projects with some of
Malaysia’s best-known companies,
including Petronas, Shell, Optimal,
TNB and JKR. It has custom-
designed and manufactured
ocean-going Enviropeel units for
LPG carriers in the EXMAR fleet and
works with specialist companies in
North Africa.

Alocit SystemsThe Alocit Systems range of epoxy coatings are well-known internationally for their ability to perform outstandingly well in the most difficult circumstances. Wet, oily or even submerged substrates present no obstacle to coating with Alocit epoxies as they are specially manufactured to give amazing adhesion on both concrete and steel.
They’re durable too! In Germany, Alocit coatings were tested after 30 years severe waste water service and found to be in perfect condition. EPA regulated testing in America showed how Alocit was able to prevent the escape of harmful PCBs into the environment and tank testing by DNV in Norway gave Alocit the highest rating for coatings to be applied in this particularly tough area.
With a history of providing long-lasting solutions in a wide range of adverse conditions, Alocit is a world-leader in surface tolerant paint technology.
System Features
?Durable - lasts up to 30 years?Easy to apply with brush, roller or spray?Apply on wet/sweating pipes?Apply underwater - salt or fresh?Apply on oily surfaces?Use on Concrete or Steel?100% Solids?Solvent-free and safe to use

A&E Group is a member of
t e c h n i c a l s t a n d a r d s
organisations, NACE and SSPC
as well as a number of other
regional organisations dealing
with maintenance and corrosion
issues across a wide range of
industries. Each year NACE and other
major conferences, such as PACE,
OTC and Offshore Europe, attract
thousands of solution seekers from
major players in their industries.
Such events are ideal for
showcasing the A&E Group ‘anti-
corrosion toolbox’, at an exhibition
booth or in a talk. So each region
is supplied with purpose-built

Technical Papers for NACE, the
US Navy, the American Petroleum
Institute and other international
and national organisations have
been given by Group personnel in
Mumbai, Perth, Atlanta, Kuala
Lumpur, San Diego, Louisville,
Aberdeen and London with
exhibitions in all major locations.
COMMUNICATIONS
Good communications lie at the heart of a properly functioning organisation. The A&E Group maintains its own Communications Department, under a Regional Director, responsible for information transfer between regions and between the Group and its customers.
Creation and maintenance of the Group’s website, document creation and systems development are all controlled from within the company. A new Group website is currently under development to provide a range of new services, particularly for end-users of Enviropeel and Alocit products.

Right: LPG tankers are covered in pipework

marine conditions of the world’s oceans.
The entire Enviropeel System sprang from the determination of the
Group management to find new solutions to intractable problems.
It has taken years to develop the sophisticated equipment and
application techniques the Group now employs.
As well as developing the original equipment, technical staff at the A&E production facility have been r e spon s i b l e f o r ongo i ng improvements, including remote controls, better safety systems and a range of different capacities.
In addition to the standard models, it is now possible to have
a ‘bespoke’ unit, specially designed to meet customer criteria - such as the twin detector units built for Belgian ship managers, Exmar, for use on their LPG fleet.
Alocit too, although its basic formula remains the same, has been subject to development,
providing more cost-effective manufacturing and more flexible delivery systems.

“... performing flawlesslyin severe service”
Product TestingEnviropeel is part of a decade long bolt-testing programme with DNV, BP and ConocoPhillips, looking into the most successful ways of preventing corrosion in bolted systems.
Both Alocit and Enviropeel have been extensively tested over the years by international
testing organisations with constant updating. Environmental, anti-corrosion and other performance tests are ongoing as part of a rigorous programme by the Group to comply with the latest standards and provide better information for users of Group products.
Compliance of Alocit 28.15 with US Navy
standards was thoroughly tested and, after inspection of Navy applications, an independent Navy report quoted Alocit as 'performing flawlessly in severe service'. Testing of Enviropeel in Australia showed a 500% increase in equipment lifespans with Enviropeel winning an Engineering Innovation Award for its effective new approach to equipment protection.
