The following types of readings indicate potential bearing currents in your motor:
Measuring VFD Induced Shaft VoltagesIs your motor safe from destructive shaft voltages? For the first time you can easily and more accurately measure the voltage on a rotating shaft. The AEGIS® SVP Shaft Voltage Probe’s unique design of high density conductive microfibers ensures continuous contact with the rotating shaft. Used with the Fluke 190 Series II ScopeMeter®, you can determine if your motor is subject to potentially damaging bearing currents. The AEGIS® SVP may be hand held or used with a magnetic base. Simply contact the rotating shaft with the microfibers and evaluate the voltage waveform on the oscilloscope.

Installation with Fluke VPS410 10:1 probe
1. Remove the protective cap 2. Remove the plastic sleeve 3. Probe with sleeve removed
4. Attach ground lead 5. Install the AEGIS® SVP tip over the probe tip
6. Secure the tip to the probe using the thumb screw. Be careful not to over tighten.

The AEGIS® Grounding Simulator (AGS-KIT-1) is used with the AEGIS® SVP to apply AEGIS® shaft grounding in a test-mode. The AGS-KIT-1 simulates the reduction of shaft voltage achieved with AEGIS® SGR installed.
