AEROTROPOLIS
John D. Kasarda is an American academic and airport business consultant focused on global competitive strategy and aviation-driven economic development. He is currently Director for the Center for Air Commerce at the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School and CEO of Aerotropolis Business Concepts LLC, an airport-economy consulting firm. He also serves as the President of the Aerotropolis Institute in China and as editor-in-chief of Logistics ,an international scholarly journal.
Kasarda fused his academic training in economics, business, and urban sociology to pursue research on urban form, organizational structure, airport development, and regional economic growth. Many of his 10 books and over 150 published articles synthesize two or more of these topics .

PENGERTIAN
Konsep pengembangan kota bandara ( aero city)sebagai properti masa depan diprediksi akan semakintumbuh pesat dalam tiga sampai lima tahunmendatang. Hal tersebut dipicu oleh meningkatnyakebutuhan akan hunian dan properti komersial,terutama berasal dari kelas menengah yang kerapbepergian dengan menggunakan pesawat, pebisnisyang terkait operasional bandara, perusahaanekspedisi, logistik, termasuk kru bandara dan maska-
pai penerbangan.

AIRPORT CITY
Juanda Airport berada dalam Kecamatan Sedati, dan
merupakan Kawasan Strategi Militer, Kawasan Perhunungan
dan salah satu Kecamatan dari Kabupaten Sidoarjo.
Di dalam Juanda Airport terdapat pula Pusat Penerbangan AL
dan Sekolah Penerbangan.
Pertumbuhan ke utara dan selatan sangat terbatas, namun
memerlukan jalan akses re Surabaya dan Sidoarjo melalui
jalan yang ada.
Pengembangan yang memungkinan adalah ke arah barat yaitu
Sedati dan Waru bahkan sampai Sukodono Kota Baru
KOMENTAR
Permasalahan ekonomi menjadi utama dalam pengembangan
Juanda Airport. Sampai sekarang sudah 20 juta passanger
yang memadati Juanda Airport baik Terminal 1 dan Terminal 2
Akan datang direncanakan 3 runway kapasitas 35 jura
passanger.
Sebagian akan mnjorok kelaut,
Perlu pemikiran isi aerotropolis mendekati konsep John D.
Kasarda
Gemopolis perlu disulkan.
