Step 1 – Prepare the laboratory for students to be seated at the computer with their partially completed “The First Day” worksheet (From the previous lesson)

Step 2 – As the students enter the classroom have them pick up their “First Day” worksheet before sitting down at their computer station

Step 3 – Ask students what they think a profile is? What kind of profiles do they have? Facebook, Twitter, Instagram? The AET student profile is the same concept.

have students’ accounts set up in the chapter’s AET profile section for student logins to work.

Students can see how to develop their AET profile

Step 1 – Go to www.theaet.com and have students click the yellow button to sign in. Have students use the “First Day” worksheet as a reference. Tips are:

Username (as listed in your Accounts page) Password (Capitalization matters), their first

initial and first letter of their last name are usually capital letters

Step 2 – Once all are logged in, show a summary for the key menus in The AET. These are:

competition! The first person to obtain a 100% complete profile gets 15 minutes of free time or some other special privilege.

Review students’ profile percentage in the Teacher side of The AET (Accounts / FFA Roster Helper) and refresh to update.

Step 1 – Have the students complete their PROFILE, using their “First Day” worksheet as a guide. Key areas to review with them are:

“Manage/Edit your personal profile and password” (Complete it all for a 100% score)

“Record your School Ag class schedule” – Essential before your start your records!

“Manage your Resume information” – The resume builds from record book information, but other accomplishments can be added here.

“Experience Manager (SAE)” – Where SAEs are developed, but see Selecting an SAE and Creating the Experience Guide for use of this area or have student skip to learn more about SAEs in the next lesson plan.

“Enter your FFA Offices” – List leadership in FFA.

“Enter your FFA committee memberships” – List leadership in FFA.

Evaluation: (How are you measuring their learning?)Key Points Methods Teacher

should pull a Student Grading Report under the REPORTS tab to see if 100% was completed by the student.

Step 1 – At the end of the class period, using the Teacher side of AET, review ACCOUNTS / FFA Roster Helper and review profile percent.

If 100% enter a daily grade of 100. If less than 100%, then score the student

accordingly.
