Dear Valued Reader Greetings ! Wishing you a very happy and prosperous new year ahead! The journey has been exciting so far. I am overwhelmed to share the fourth issue of 2018 newsletter “IRMRA- Rub Tech Focus – IRTF. IRMRA team has been continuously striving to help the rubber industry to achieve technical excellence. As we had announced a series of events through out the year on the eve of diamond jubilee celebration which started with the Rubber day and inaugural ceremony in January was concluded with the celebration and 23rd Rubber Conference held on 14th & 15th December 2018 in collaboration with LRCCP France. The conference was highly insightful with different perspectives shared by the eminent and budding researchers from Rubber fraternity. The conference was embarked with more than 300 delegates and was highly appreciated by the delegates. I am glad to inform you that our new centre inaugurated at Sricity has been recommended for NABL accreditation of its lab. The team has put the best efforts to obtain such prestigious milestone within short span of time. It will be good for the southern region members to avail the services of the centre. As we strive to serve you better every day , do let us know your valuable feedback to improvise and excel in our services.

TRAININGS CONDUCTED AT IRMRA
IRMRA with its aim to support and develop Indian Rubber industry in every possible ways, conducts trainings on both Laboratory Management Systems and Rubber Technology. During the quarter, three technical trainings on Reverse Engineering and Life Prediction of Rubber Products, Thermoplastic Elastomers : Processing and Applications, Quality Assurance through Inspection and Testing of Automotive Rubber Products were conducted and four LMS based trainings were conducted successfully. Participants well appreciated the training.
EASTERN BRANCH AT SAPOL, KOLKATA
A office warming ceremony was concluded to officially initiate the operations of IRMRA – SARPOL. The IRMRA members from Eastern region were overwhelmed with the opening of IRMRA . Many well known dignitaries from the rubber industry attended the ceremony and expressed their gratitude to for establishing the Centre well equipped with contemporary analytical test facilities.

Indian Rubber Manufacturers Research Association concluded its Diamond Jubilee celebration by organizing its 23rd Rubber Conference and International Workshops on 14th and 15th December, 2018 in Mumbai. The 23rd edition of the conference with the theme, “Emerging Trends in Rubber Material Technology, Testing and Analysis for Future Generation”, was organized in collaboration with French Rubber and Plastics Research and Testing Laboratory (LRCCP), Paris. LRCCP, France is an advanced research and testing institute since past 70 years. The conference was inaugurated in the august presence of Mr. Anandan IAS, Chairman and Executive Director of the Rubber Board, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India Dr. Patrick HEUILLET, R & D Director of LRCCP, Dr. S. S. Gupta, Senior Development Officer DIPP, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, Mr. Vikram Makar, President, All India Rubber Industries Association (AIRIA),Mr. Vinod Simon, Chairman, Rubber Sector, Rubber Skill Development Council (RSDC), Mr. Rajendra V. Gandhi, President, IRMRA, Dr. K. Rajkumar, Director, IRMRA and industry professionals.
The speakers were a unique in blend of leading scientists, researchers, industry professionals and emerging scientists from leading institutions. Prof. Anil K. Bhowmick. Professor of Eminence, Rubber Technology Centre, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Dr. Patrick HEUILLET, Dr. Amit Das, Dr. R K Jain, Expert member, UNIDO, Prof. Chinnapan Bhaskar, Prof. Santanu Chattopadhyaya and others presented their papers. To encourage upcoming researchers and scientists, IRMRA provided the platform to present their papers. The best paper Awards were given to Mr. Sujit Sharma , Rubber Technology Center, IIT – Khargapur who presented the paper entitled “Simulation of extrusion dies for rubber profile” and Mr. A. K. Pandey, DMSRDE, Kanpur, Ministry of Defence who presented a paper entitled “Role of core shell modified conducting carbon fillers on dielectric properties of silicone elastomer” During the valedictory function, the delegates shared their experience by speaking high about the conference content and overall organization of the event.
