Affiliates hold a critical role in ASCD leadership; one-third of ASCD’s policy-making body is comprised of members elected by LC

Affiliates, approximately 25% of ASCD members, have a leadership role greater than their numbers, making a strong, thriving affiliate program essential to ASCD’s overall strength as a membership organization

The Affiliate Study Task Force was charged to:

Study ASCD’s current affiliate program and explore how to strengthen the effectiveness of affiliates and their role within ASCD;

Develop recommendations for the ASCD management for action and/or further study.

#1. ASCD will have affiliates located worldwide, operating as legally separate organizations that communicate, network and collaborate with each other and with ASCD to advance ASCD’s mission and beliefs.

#2. Affiliates will provide member engagement in advancing ASCD goals and vision in a local context.

#3. Each affiliate will maximize its capacity to attain its goals through flexibility and adaptability, using trends, research, and data.
