Senior Water Quality Sampler

Context
Job description
· Plan and manage the collection of samples to monitor Water
Quality in accordance with procedures to ISO17025 standard when
required
· Manage and close out all customer contact within target
timescales incl. sampling where necessary
· Ensure that all health and safety obligations are met to
promote an environment of zero harm
· Participate in and promote the internal feedback process, to
actively seek and offer feedback in order to promote continuous
improvement
· Supervision and people management of a team of Samplers.
Ensure they are trained and working to all necessary technical,
quality and operational procedures at all times.
· To operate effectively as part of the Sampler Centre team and
able to develop good working relationships with colleagues. Liaise
with other Senior Samplers to maximise efficiency of the teams.
· Manage any minor disciplinary, performance or capability
issues when necessary
· Undertake such reporting or activities as required by the Team
Leader.
· Deputise for Team Leader when necessary
· Liaise with various parts of the business and external
stakeholders as necessary
· Vehicle and equipment management
Requirements
· Technical excellence in all aspects of sampling and water
quality requirements.
· Ability to lead and motivate a team of Samplers
· Excellent time management and organisation skills to balance
competing obligations and deliver performance expectations
· Great communication skills in order to train and manage junior
staff and liaise with other areas of the business and
customers.
· Focus on performance management to ensure the team operates
effectively and in compliance with all performance obligations
· Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
· Ability to work on weekend and standby rotas
