Experiencing not one or two internships but four or five?

BUILDING BLOCKS.

There is a reason our graduates get top jobs with Google, CNN, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and the Peace Corps.

There is a reason they go on to Harvard, Stanford and Princeton for graduate school.

A Drew education is far more than a collection of classes. Our graduates get great jobs because they have the right skill sets and experience. At Drew, you create those skill sets through a customizable education that leads to in-demand career paths. Drew’s distinctive building blocks for success include:

Find Your YodaDrew’s professor-mentors make a lifelong difference. Getting into college can seem like an end goal, but the real goal is thriving once you get there. The National Survey of Student Engagement consistently reveals that students who connect early and often with strong mentors are the most successful. Drew’s remarkable culture of mentorship begins in the first year and often lasts long after students graduate.

Top-Ranked Academics34 majors, 60 minors, 10 combined degree programs, 20 pre-professional programs

Have an Out-of-Classroom ExperienceBecause having one internship or real-world experience is good—but having four or five is WOW. At Drew, hands-on experience is a must-have, not a nice-to-have. Live what you learn in one of Drew’s New York programs, through its out-of-classroom requirements and its hundreds of internship opportunities.

In the last few years alone, Drew students have had internships at the American Cancer Society, Atlantic Records, Bank of America, BBC Worldwide, CBS Sports, Goldman Sachs, Lincoln Center, Johnson & Johnson, The Late Show with David Letterman, Merrill Lynch, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Michael Kors, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Revlon, Sirius XM Satellite Radio and Tommy Hilfiger.

Less sitting. More doing.

Drew’s City ProgramsBuilt into a Drew education— our majors, our mentoring, our location and our history—are multiple city semesters in New York, London and Washington, DC, that focus on professional worlds: finance, business, contemporary art, communications and media, theatre, entrepreneurship, politics and diplomacy.

One-of-a-Kind Undergraduate ResearchDrew science students do hands-on research on real-world problems, guided by faculty and industrial scientists who continue their ground-breaking research at Drew. They work closely with star researchers, including a Nobel Prize winner and many with dozens of patents to their names. They receive stipends to work intensively during the summers, and they present their research at conferences and publish their findings in academic journals.

These experiences prepare Drew students for jobs at organizations like Pfizer, Novartis and the American Cancer Society, and for graduate programs at Stanford, Cornell and Princeton.

DREW GRADUATES GET JOBS.

Recent graduates have landed impressive, hard-to-get positions with CNN, Google, Merrill Lynch, NASDAQ, Peace Corps, Sony Music, Teach For America and the U.S. State Department, while others are attending prestigious graduate schools, including Columbia, Cornell, Duke, Harvard, Princeton and Stanford.

In a book, The Princeton Review salutes the colleges that are best at helping students get out of their dream colleges and into their dream careers. “Simply put, these colleges are stellar at putting the ‘hire’ in ‘higher education,’ ” writes the book’s author.

94 percent of Drew graduates are employed or in graduate school six months after graduation.

“My Career Center advisors really helped me get infront of the right people. My connections through DrewLink, our alumni network, led to two internships. A Career Center event led to a third internship. This professional experience definitely made me stand out when I was looking for full-time jobs.”—Kristina Corso ’15Senior Account Executive, Peppercomm DREW IS ONE OF THE

A college education is a significant investment that provides a foundation and flexibility you’ll need for the rest of your life. How that education is shaped matters—a lot.

The close mentoring relationships provided by Drew faculty members, Drew’s extensive hands-on educational experiences and its large network of internship opportunities add value to a Drew degree.

Maybe this is why Drew was ranked “Best Bang for Your Buck” by Washington Monthly—and here are some ways we work to help students and families manage costs.

AT DREW, COLLEGE COSTS ARE

NOT BEYONDYOUR REACH “Professor Lisa Brenner

helped me figure out what I wanted to do after college by getting me an internship with a great nonprofit in New York City called New York Women in Film and Television. It was an opportunity to network and learn from industry mentors that I never would have had if not for a Drew professor.” —Gabi Bisconti ’16

Financial aid is any form of monetary support that assists you in paying for college. Financial aid comes in many forms: merit scholarships and need-based grants, loans, and work study.

Scholarships Drew University offers scholarships to high- achieving students who have completed a challenging college prep high school curriculum. Merit scholarships are awarded without regard to financial need and are renewable for all four years as long as minimum academic requirements are met. All accepted students are evaluated for an academic scholarship based on their application for admission (see the list of scholarships on previous page).

A GUIDE TO FINANCIAL AID TERMS.

GrantsStudents may be awarded a Drew need-based grant as part of their financial aid award. Eligibility for Drew grants is determined as a result of the information provided on the FAFSA and is reevaluated each year. To receive maximum consideration for Drew grants, students should submit their FAFSA as early as possible after applying for admission but no later than February 15. Federal Pell Grants are provided by the federal government to students with the greatest financial need. Eligibility for a Pell Grant is determined by the information provided on the FAFSA. Students who qualify will receive a Federal Pell Grant as part of their financial aid award from Drew. Various state agencies award grants as well. New Jersey awards Tuition Assistance Grants (TAGs) to eligible New Jersey residents with the greatest financial need as determined by the FAFSA and a supplemental application. Students from other states should check with their state’s department of education for available grants.

Loans Loans are a form of financial aid that must be paid back. Federal Direct Loans are low-interest loans provided to students by the federal government. Students must submit a FAFSA in order to receive a Direct Loan. The amount of the loan is determined by the student’s grade level. Parents whose student files a FAFSA have the option of applying for a Federal Parent PLUS Loan to help pay the costs not covered by the financial aid award. Students may explore alternative education loans from state or private lenders. Additional information on loans is available at drew.edu/financialassistance/loans.

Tuition Payment Plan A payment plan, through Tuition Management Systems (TMS), allows you to spread the cost of your education into recurring monthly installments. Your monthly payment amount and down payment are determined by the amount you set up the plan for and the date you enroll in the plan. TMS payment plans are calculated on a per-semester basis and must be renewed for each semester.

For more information, please visit drew.edu/studentaccounts and click on “Payment Options.”

Work Study Students may be awarded work study as part of their financial aid award. Eligibility for work study is determined by financial need. Work study awards are intended to assist students with indirect costs (books, travel, etc.) and cannot be applied directly to the bill. Earnings are not guaranteed and will be paid for the actual hours worked.

“My family, not unlike most, was very concerned about college expenses toward the end of my sophomore year—especially as my brother was finishing his college search. The staff in the financial aid office were incredibly helpful, approachable and understanding. Drew has become my second home. They made it possible for me to stay and I can’t thank them enough.” —Jonathan Van Dongen ’17
