SCARSDALE INTRO TO MUSIC In this class, students will explore musical instruments, composers, ballet, musical theater or symphony orchestra. As complicated as it sounds, kids are very familiar with all of it even at the early age. A lot of girls are taking ballet. They all know about Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty. We will also use "Peter and the Wolf" by Prokofiev and "Carnival of the Animals" by Saint‐Saëns to talk about musical instruments and symphony orchestra . We will celebrate the famous composer of different countries or the favorite fairytales in musical theater.

Due to high level of enrollment, adult‐student ratio restrictions but also to maintain the quality of service, we now have a maximum enrollment in the Garderie in Scarsdale, therefore, registration is now required.

STUDY HALL AND AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS

STUDY HALL offers students a quiet setting to do homework, under adult supervision, in small groups. This activity is not the same as Directed Studies (Etudes Dirigées), they do not conduct individual tutoring.

AFTER‐SCHOOLCLUBSare offered to students from Grade 1 through 5, in either French or English. You do not need to attend FASNY to register.They include a variety of activities that broaden the students’ experiences or give them an opportunity to relax and have fun. FASNY offers through offers children and adult language classes but also private music instruction, ski trips three times a year and vacation programs during the school breaks on the Mamaroneck campus. Registration through the school website at www.fasny.org/afterschoolprogram

The Secondary school also offers a variety of clubs for students Grades 6 through 12. All clubs are held at the Mamaroneck campus after regularly scheduled classes or during lunch hours. For clubs meeting during lunch hours, students eat first, then meet with the club advisor in the room where the activity takes place. These clubs are covered in tuition fees, and it does not cost extra to participate. RefundsandWithdrawalsYourfulltuitionwillberefundedintheeventthecourseiscancelledorifyounotifyuswithinfive(5)fullbusinessdayspriortothefirstclassmeeting.Wewillissueyouarefund,lessa$50.00processingfee,within7to10businessdays.Norefundsaregrantedafterthestartingdateofclass.Nodiscountisgivenformissedclasses.Programsaresubjecttochange.
