Local Business Owner VolunteersMore Than Just His Time to HelpSustain Gardner’s Parks &Quality of Life
Tim Henry
Each year, debris of all kinds accumulates in the creek, woods and park area in the Gardner Greenway adja-cent to Winwood Park in Gardner. To preserve this natural habitat and recrea onal space, Gardner Parks and Recrea on hosts an annual Earth Day/Arbor Day Celebra on which is a clean-up of the greenway area. Since 2009, Tim Henry, part owner and president of Gardner Disposal, has donated his me and trash removal ser-vices to dispose of the bags of trash collected from the greenway. He even has helped cook the picnic lunch provided to volunteers. In 2015, Tim donated trash removal services for the inaugural Make-A-Diff erence Day. He has volunteered at the annual Halloween Boo Bash event as well since 2008. Under Tim’s leader-ship, Gardner Disposal has also been a great supporter of Gardner Parks and Recrea on by dona ng hun-dreds of dollars in sponsorships for sports ac vi es and special events. Tim is a true example of how lo-cal business owners can make a posi ve impact in the community they serve to and help to improve the quality of life for Gardner residents.

THANK YOUJeff Stewart
For your service and dedication to the City of Gardner
Gardner Parks and Recrea on Director Jeff Stewart recently accepted a posi on with the Johnson County Park and Recrea on District, thus concluding 16 plus years of service with the City of Gardner. Jeff has guided the Department since 2000 and has led the charge in devel-oping Winwood Park, Gardner Greenway, Veterans and Stone Creek Parks, the rehabili on of Westside Park, as well as the development of the City's fi rst ever Parks System Master Plan. But more than anything, most will recognize the Gardner Aqua c Center and Celebra on Park as two of the most signifi cant addi ons under Jeff 's tenure. Add in the current renova on of the Gardner Senior Building and these are just a few major projects that Jeff has brought to life in the Gardner Community. Jeff 's dedica on to the Parks and Recrea on profession has improved the quality of life for Gardner families as well as visitors to the community. Thank you Jeff for all you have done for Gardner Parks and Recrea on and the City of Gardner. You will be sorely missed but we wish you well in your new venture with Johnson County.
