1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 courses

• Provide input for the pilot and adoption process to ensure that all students are supported

• Review and evaluate data from pilot classrooms

• Determine which set of instructional materials to adopt based on data

Decision Making ProcessThe culminating activity of the math adoption committee will be to reach a decision regarding which math program to recommend to the Instructional Materials Committee for adoption.

We will be using the same process to select the 4 materials we want to examine further.

Each committee member has one vote that must be exercised.

No abstentions will be allowed.

A clear recommendation will be indicated by a super majority of >60%, 14 of 24, in favor of one of the materials.


Are we ready?

All committee members must be comfortable with taking a vote before the voting is implemented.

This comfort level will be identified by a thumbs consensus vote with all members.

Once all members show thumbs up, the committee members will vote.

Core Focus Update

• Shannon McCaw’s primary objective is to address CCSS standards in the traditional 8th grade course with her Algebra books.

• There are lessons for 83 days of instruction; we would need to find content/lessons for 50-60 more days.

• Shannon is currently working on revising 6-8th grade 2014 books for 2018 version.
