Measurement Aim.

To assess if the production method proposed would produce

flanges accurately enough to allow for the production of a 15

flange 1π ball arrangement.

Single Flange Prototype made at Legnaro, and measured with a CMM

at Daresbury.3

Detector Adjustment Progress

Drawings of detector adjustment system are being checked prior to quotation and manufacture.

Drawings of alignment gauge are inProgress.

Expect all drawings to be complete early December.

Plan to have a complete assembly mid to late January 2008.

Drawings of Liquid Nitrogen support structure have been completed and issued to Legnaro for manufacture.

Future plans

The UK is currently bidding to provide the mechanical design for installation of AGATA at both GANIL and GSI

Milestones:

Sept 2008 Agree design specification for the mechanical support for GANIL.

May 2009 Finish design of the mechanical support for GANIL. Begin procurement.

Oct 2009 Trial assembly of the mechanical support for GANIL.

Dec 2009 Installation of the structure in GANIL.

Jan 2010 Agree design specification for the mechanical support for GSI.

Nov 2010 Finish design of the mechanical support for GSI. Begin procurement.

Apr 2011 Trial assembly of the mechanical support for GSI.

Jun 2011 Installation of the structure in GSI 25
