While preregistration does not start until November 7, 2019, you need to work on getting your holds removed NOW. To see if you have any holds, go to the My Record tab in Howdy. In the middle of the screen is a box labeled Grades and Transcripts. In that box, click on Holds to see your holds. Here are the most common holds, but there are other types of holds. Missing UG Degree plan - you must submit your degree plan in HOWDY. If you have already submitted a plan, we are working to approve your plan. To insure your degree plan is approved in time to preregister, you need to submit your degree planner no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18. Remember, self-approved degree plans often do not meet our prerequisite, degree requirements and can include courses that are not needed. We work on reviewing degree plans as time allows. Title IX Training - you must complete the Title IX Training, please see https://studentlife.tamu.edu/titleixtraining/ Past Due Student Acct Balance - Please contact Student Business Services Final High School Transcript TAMU has not received your final high school transcript Scholastic Probation/Deficient in Major - Instructions can be found on scholastic probation letter. NCGA, BASF Accepting Applications for 2019 Scholarships

The National Corn Growers Association is again offering its William C. Berg Academic Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship thanks to the sponsorship of BASF Corporation. Five $1,500 scholarships are available to undergraduate students at an accredited college or university. The five scholarship winners and their parent/guardian will be announced at NCGA’s annual tradeshow and convention, Commodity Classic, which will be held on February 26 – February 29, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. Applicants or a parent/guardian must be a member of the NCGA. Past scholarship winners and employees and the families of employees of any division of BASF or their subsidiaries or the NCGA are not eligible for the scholarship. Students may apply for membership at https://membership.ncga.com/mobile/member.html. Many states have student memberships! Applications must be submitted by December 1, 2019. The MSC L.T. Jordan Institute for International Awareness is currently accepting

applications from graduate and undergraduate students to receive funding for research abroad

opportunities.

The Fellows Program:

Students may receive up to $2,000 for their research expenses. Allows for individual research abroad: students will create their trip itinerary, budget

estimates, a final report, and a public presentation upon their return. Undergraduates will develop their research over the course of two years: the first year is

conducting the research abroad with the MSC L.T. Jordan Undergraduate Research

Fellows Program, and the second year consists of working with the Undergraduate

Research Scholars Thesis program in the LAUNCH office.

Application Process:

Pre-proposal: October 14th, 2019 at 5 p.m. in the MSC L.T. Jordan Office. Must come

with a cover sheet, resume, essay, and a letter of recommendation from an advisor/faculty

member. Proposal: Selected applicants will submit a final project proposal due on October 31st,

2019 at 5 p.m. in the MSC L.T Jordan Office. Must come with travel itinerary, estimated

budget, official transcript, and three references. Interviews: November 11th-18th, 2019 in the MSC L.T. Jordan Collection Room, MSC

2293.

The Departments of Political Science, Economics, International Studies, Sociology, Ag Economics, and Wildlife and

Fisheries Sciences have joined the Bush School of Government & Public Service in offering 3+2 programs that allows

undergrads to earn both their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in five years.

Through courses offered in the Master of Public Service and Administration and the Master of

International Affairs, students can prepare for an exciting career in any number of federal government agencies,

development organizations, security and enforcement agencies, think tanks, int’l NGOs, financial institutions,

private companies, and more in an accelerated fashion, saving thousands of dollars and entering a stimulating

collaborative environment their senior year.

at the meeting too), but if you are interested, please attend the posted information session, where advisors and

students will be in attendance to answer questions and offer advice. And if you cannot attend but are interested, sign

To be eligible for this program, a student must (1) be from one of the above majors, (2) have completed all

prerequisite courses listed, (3) have 102 credit hours by fall entry into the Bush School (meaning you have until the

end of the summer term to complete any needed courses), and (4) have a 3.25 GPA minimum (3.5 for INTS)

Lunch will be served and there is no obligation to commit to the program. To reserve a place for your lunch (or

to indicate that you are interested but cannot attend), register online HERE.

You may certainly come and go as needed based on your class schedule, but if you sign up, please attend (or let us

ANRP Internship Program

Imagine spending the spring semester in our nation’s capital while making your mark on the Ag & natural resource process! The Agricultural & Natural Resources Policy (ANRP) Internship Program has extended its application deadline for the spring ’20 program in Washington, D.C. The extended deadline is now Friday, November 1st at 5pm. This is a high-impact learning experience! This is a fantastic opportunity for all classifications throughout the college, including underclassmen, seniors that are graduating in December, and graduate students. Participants in our Washington, D.C. program are placed in policy-related internships on and off the Hill, including Congressional offices and Ag-focused lobbying groups. Our Washington, D.C. program offers many benefits to students, including:

a paid internship, free housing, an Aggie cohort experience, academic credit, opportunities to network with and be mentored by Aggies that live and work in the D.C. area,

and the opportunity to expand the student’s résumé and grow their knowledge of the policy-making

process!
