Pablo Rus Broseta became known to a wider international audience following the highly successful opening concert of the Musica Festival 2014 in Strasbourg, where the young Spanish conductor led a joint performance of the SWR Symphony Orchestra and the Ensemble Modern.

La danza descansa sobre los latidos del silencio, la danza de tres cuerpos se funde moviéndose a ritmo
flamenco, uniendo las notas musicales que resuenan en el aire y las voces rotas que fluyen en el espacio.
Tres cuerpos, tres formas, tres estilos, tres silencios ... El flamenco y la danza española entrelazan tres
almas que forman silencios enmascarados en verdades, mostrando el lado más auténtico de uno mismo.
Dance rests on the beats of silence, the dance of three bodies merging to move following the flamenco
beats, joining the musical notes that resonate in the air and the broken voices that flow in the space.
Three bodies, three shapes, three styles, three silences ... Flamenco and Spanish dances intertwine
three souls that shape silences masked in truths, showing the most authentic side of ourselves.

Centelles tenía su propia maleta, que se llevó cuando huyó de España al final de la Guerra Civil. Su contenido ha pasado a formar parte de la memoria histórica de España como parte de una extraordinaria colección de 12.000 negativos y fotografías.Aunque nacido en Valencia (en 1909), Agustí Centelles i Ossó se trasladó a Barcelona a una edad muy joven y allí comenzó su carrera en la profesión que más tarde le haría ganar el título de uno de los padres del fotoperiodismo en España. Fue uno de los primeros fotógrafos en el país en utilizar una cámara Leica. El legado ahora en manos del estado español es su testimonio visual de la República española, de la Guerra Civil como un fotógrafo oficial para el gobierno de la República, y de su internamiento en un campo de refugiados en Francia.

El fotógrafo catalán Agustí Centelles se tiene como el Robert Capa español, el legendario fotógrafo de guerra que dejó tras de sí en París cuando huía de Europa a los Estados Unidos en 1939, lo que más tarde se conoció como la "maleta mexicana”, un valioso tesoro de fotografías hechas por Capa y otros durante la Guerra Civil española.
The Catalan photographer Agustí Centelles is sometimes referred to as the Spanish Robert Capa, the legendary war photographer who left behind him in Paris when he fled Europe for the United States in 1939 what later became known as the ‘Mexican suitcase, a treasure trove of shots taken by Capa and others during the Spanish Civil War.
Centelles had his own suitcase which he took with him when he fled Spain at the end of the Civil War. Its contents now form part of Spain’s historical memory as part of an extraordinary collection of 12,000 negatives and photographic.Although born in Valencia (in 1909), Agustí Centelles i Ossó moved to Barcelona at a very young age and there began his career in the profession which would later earn him the title of one of the fathers of photojournalism in Spain. He was one of the first photographers in the country to use a Leica camera. The legacy now in the hands of the Spanish state is his visual testimony of the Spanish Republic, of the Civil War as an official photographer for the Republican government, and of his internment in a refugee camp in France.

Located in the 16th century Renaissance tower of the Palacio del Conde Luna, the University of Washington León Center aims to foster interdisciplinary activities that benefit from its unique location in the historic center of León, and encourage understanding and compassion between cultures. The space, which is available for use for study abroad programs, academic research, conferences, exhibits and cultural events, has been home to 35 programs, 9 cultural activities (including lectures and book presentations), 1 conference and 5 art exhibits since its inauguration in May 2010.
El Centro de estudios en León de la Universidad de Washington está ubicado en la torre renacentista del siglo XVI del Palacio del Conde Luna. Tiene como objetivo fomentar actividades multidisciplinares que se benefician de su lugar único en el centro histórico de León y estimulan la comprensión y tolerancia entre culturas. El espacio disponible para programas de estudios, investigaciones académicas, congresos, exposiciones y actividades culturales, lleva albergados 35 programas, 9 actividades culturales (incluyendo charlas y presentaciones de libros), un congreso y 5 exposiciones de arte desde su inauguración en mayo de 2010.

It is intended to explore the cultural expression with regards to the Spanish Civil War and how to use it in the class of Spanish as a foreign language. Texts and references will be provided.

Se pretende explorar la expresión cultural referente a la Guerra Civil Española y cómo utilizarla en la clase de español. Se proporcionarán textos y referencias.
ANTHONY GEIST es catedrático de español y literatura comparada en la Universidad de Washington. Es miembro fundador de ALBA (archivos de la Brigada Abraham Lincoln) y sirve en su Comité Ejecutivo.

GINA HERRMANN es profesora asociada de español en la Universidad de Oregón. También es Vicepresidenta del Archivo de la Brigada Abraham Lincoln. Es autora de libros sobre cultura comunista en España e historiadora oral; cuyo trabajo se centra en las historias de las mujeres comunistas españolas en la Guerra Civil española, la II Guerra Mundial y la resistencia francesa.
Gina Herrmann is Associate Professor of Spanish at the University of Oregon. She is also Vice Chair of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archive. She is the author of books on communist culture in Spain and an oral historian working on the histories of Spanish communist women in the Spanish Civil War, World War II and the French resistance.

Adam Hochschild graduated from Harvard in 1963 with a BA in History and Literature. He is the author of eight books; the latest, “Spain in Our Hearts: Americans and the Spanish Civil War, 1936-1939”, appeared in 2016.A longtime lecturer at the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley, Hochschild has also been a Fulbright Lecturer in India, Regents´ Lecturer at the University of California, Santa Cruz and Writer-in-Residence at the Department of History, University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

She is the author of books on communist culture in Spain and an oral historian working on the histories of Spanish communist women in the Spanish Civil War, World War II and the French resistance.

competencia y dominio del idioma español, que otorga el Instituto Cervantes en
nombre del Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte de España. Ha habido un total

The Diplomas DELE are official qualifications certifying the degree of competence
and mastery of Spanish, granted by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Ministry
of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain. There have been a total of 175 candidates
during 2016. The registration and examination dates are:
Levels A2, B1, B2 and C1: July 15 (Registration from February 15 through June 8)

evaluación y certificación del español promovido por el Instituto Cervantes (IC), la Universidad
Nacional Autónoma de México ( UNAM) y la Universidad de Salamanca ( USAL).
El SIELE es un examen de dominio que certifica el grado de competencia en la lengua española.
Funciona sobre una escala de puntos con equivalencias a los niveles A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 y C2 del Marco

El SIELE es digital, adaptable, ágil, internacional y de calidad.
El SIELE consta de cuatro pruebas que se corresponden con las diversas actividades comunicativas de

e interacción orales.
El candidato puede tomar el examen completo o bien por pruebas. El examen completo tiene un
orden fijo y preestablecido de las pruebas (CL, CA, EIE, EIO), con una duración de 3 horas y un
descanso extra de 15 minutos después de la prueba de CA.

ISAS are educational centers from US and Canada, at any of the non-university levels (Pre-K, Elementary, Middle and High School) of recognized academic prestige that follow (with all or part of their students) an integrated curriculum program of language and contents in Spanish.
