Dear Friends and Colleagues:

On behalf of Course Chair, Sudhir Diwan, MD, Course Directors, Scott Woska, MD and Christopher Gharibo, MD and the New York and New Jersey Societies of Interventional Pain Physicians (NYSIPP & NJSIPP), we would like to thank you for joining us at NY/NJSIPP’s Pain Medicine Symposium, 2018: Evolving Advanced Pain Therapies.

The NYSIPP & NJSIPP Pain Medicine Symposium was established in 2010 with the primary objectives of educating health care professionals to promote the development and practice of safe, high quality, cost effective interventional pain management techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of pain and related disorders, and to insure patient access to these interventions.

Our scientific program provides state-of-the-art information on advanced pain management techniques, pharmacology, neurostimulation, ultrasound, regenerative medicine, vertebral augmentation, spinal stenosis and minimally invasive decompression and minimally invasive sacroiliac fusion. We have also included sessions on international pain practice by world renowned pain experts, cutting edge spinal procedures (including endoscopic discectomy and lysis of epidural adhesions) and a full day safe opiate prescribing program. In 2015, our program expanded to include a full day NP/PA course and a Fellows and Residents program that continues to expand. We are thrilled how this program continues to grow and evolve based on feedback from our attendees and experts in interventional pain management.

Congratulations to our 2018 award winners: Dr. Peter Staats, 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award Winner; Dr. Aaron Calodney, 2018 Pain Physician of the Year Award Winner; Dr. Fabricio Dias Assis, 2018 International Scholar Award Winner and Dr. Amit Gulati, 2018 Rising Star Award Winner. The four of you inspire us every day and we are thrilled to be able to honor and celebrate with you at the gala awards banquet on Friday night, November 9, 2018. We invite and encourage everyone (attendees, honored guests and industry supporters) to join us for our gala dinner on Friday night to recognize these four gentlemen.

Also, this year, NY/NJSIPP 2018, Evolving Advanced Pain Therapies is honored to recognize and support Wounded Warriors as our fund raising recipient. Our pre-gala event cocktail hour will be a fun fund raising activity for everyone and we are so pleased to support this very worthy charity. We appreciate the service of everyone attending NY/NJSIPP 2018 who has served in the armed forces. Your time, your service, and your sacrifice are honored by all in attendance here. We salute you.

As one of the largest state society meetings of ASIPP, we appreciate the opportunity to work, grow and learn with all of you. Thank you for joining us for our conference this year and we hope to continue to work with you many years to come.

Sincerely -

Sudhir Diwan, MDCEO, NYSIPP
