Award Bid #16-18-0426: Kitchen Equipment Supply Opening Date: April 26, 2016 Term of Contract: June 1, 2016 – May 31, 2017 with an option to extend for two

additional years in one-year increments (Supporting Information – Bid Recommendation Memo, Award Report, and

Disclosure Forms) The Purchasing Office solicited bids to procure kitchen equipment supplies. Bid

specifications were developed in collaboration with the Career and Technical Education Department staff. Bids were requested for a total of 21 items. Due to a material defect in the specifications on the five lines for the American Range units, those items are not being considered for award. Bid packets were distributed to five vendors as a result of advertising and direct solicitation. Three bids were received. The Purchasing Office contacted the lowest responsible bidders, Bar Boy Products, Inc. of Farmingdale, NY and Sam Tell & Son, Inc. of Farmingdale, NY to negotiate better prices and the vendors indicated that the prices were firm. Both vendors have provided services to Eastern Suffolk BOCES in the past and their performance has been satisfactory.

X. Recommended Approval of the Establishment of a Capital Project The greenhouse at the Harry B. Ward Technical Center collapsed in 2013 and an insurance check was issued in the amount of $232,898. The Agency’s Space Planning Committee decided that instead of replacing the greenhouse, the funds would be used for capital improvements for the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program at the Harry B. Ward Technical Center. It is, therefore, recommended that a capital project be established for CTE renovations at the Harry B. RECOMMENDED MOTION: “BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Cooperative Educational Services, First Supervisory District of Suffolk County, hereby appoints David Wicks as District Superintendent of Eastern Suffolk BOCES for the period July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2019, and authorizes the Board President to execute an employment contract between the Board and David Wicks.”
