Good, technica lly correct and economicaldriving ensures ma ximum durability a nd

OverrunThe fue l supp ly is autom at ically shut off
during overrun, e.g. when the vehicle isbeing dr iven down long gradien ts or when
braking. To enab le the overrun cut-off t otake effect, do not accelerate during
overrun and do not de-clutch. To preventdam age to the cata lyt ic converter, overrun
cut-off is temp orarily deactivated when th ecataly tic converter t empera ture is high.
Vehi cles w ith turb ocharged engineFlow -g enerat ed noises may be aud ible if
the a ccelerat or is released quickly due toair flow in the t urbocharger.
Warming upAllow the engine to wa rm up while driving.Do not warm it up by letting it run at idling
speed. Do not apply full throt tle until the
engine has reached op erat ingtemperature.
Correct gear select ionDo not race your engine whilst in neutra l or
with a low gear selected. Driving t oo fast inindiv idual gea rs as well as stop-a nd-g o
tra ffic increase eng ine wea r and f uelconsumption.
Change downWhen decreasing speed, shift down in tothe next lowest g ear. Do not slip th e clutch
with a high-revving engine. This isespecially impo rtant when hill climb ing.
Clutch operat ionAlw ays dep ress the clutch peda l hard tothe floor to prevent shift ing dif ficulties and
tra nsmission dam age.
When d riving do not use the pedal as a
foot rest; this will ca use substa nt ial clutchwear.
To ensure the pe dal t ravel is uninhib ited,
there must be no mats in the area of t hepedals.
Ba tt ery c areWhen driving slowly or when the vehicle isstationary, e.g. in slow urban t raff ic, stop-
and-go t raff ic or traf fic jams, turn off allunn ecessary electrica l load s w here
possible (e.g. heat ed rear window, auxiliary headligh ts, etc.).
Declutch w hen sta rting in orde r to relievethe strain on t he start er and the ba ttery.
