"e-IDEATHON"
sponsered byTEQIP - III
Agri-HACKS is an intercollege
technical ideation competition
which is firmly based on the
agricultural technical problem
statements. Its main aim is to solve
some of the current agricultural
problems through technologies and
bring forward all the enthusiastic
students to come forward and show
up their technical potential. This is
an ideation competiton which
comes forward to just getting the
possible idea of the problems not
the complete prototype unlike,
Hackathons.

2nd prize : ₹ 3000
3rd prize : ₹ 1000
PROBLEM #4In tea gardens, sprinkler irrigation systems areused for irrigation purposes. While drip irrigation issupposed to be the most efficient formof irrigation.Sprinkler irrigation gives the benefit ofeconomically-viable top layer oftea leaves, but when it comesto yield, drip irrigation always gives anadded advantage. We are looking for a integratedirrigation system comprising of both sprinkler anddrip irrigation systems in order to increase theproductivity of tea leaves and enhancing itseconomic value too.
PROBLEM #5GHG emissions from intermittentflooding in paddy fields, amount to 10-20% of green house gases like methanein the atmosphere. As methane is a chiefconstituent of biogas, hence we arelooking for technological intervention toconvert methane from agricultural fieldwaters into usable forms.
PROBLEM #1We are looking for solution toestimate soil fertility status on realtime basis and to give advisory onfertilizer and compost usage. This willhelp in better planning for fertilizerapplication in crops and maintain soilfertility status. The solution isexpected to (1) provide help to farmerfor getting soil fertility status on realtime basis, when needed. This caninclude actual value of differentparameters' estimating soil fertilityand overall status. (2) provide advisoryon fertilizer and compost usage tofarmer, periodically. This should bebased on soil fertility status.
PROBLEM #2Rural women play a significant roleinside the houses as well as onfarms along with animal husbandrywork. This triple burden has madethe life of rural women especially inhilly areas miserable & full ofdrudgery. The main activities whichsignificantly increase theirdrudgery level in hilly rural areasare - Farm: Farm activities includingharvesting, Weeding & hoeing, etc.Home: Cooking & collection of fueland fodder. Animal husbandry andallied activities. We require sometechnological interventions in orderto reduce drudgery of women.
PROBLEM #3Food is essential for nourishmentand sustenance of life.Adulteration of food cheats theconsumer and can pose a seriousrisk to health. Food is adulteratedif its quality is lowered or affectedby the addition of substanceswhich are injurious to health or bythe removal of substances that arenutritious. The challenge is lookingfor technological solutions to givethe consumer an opportunity todetect common adulterants inconsumer food.
