THEME: A FOCUS GROUP DISSCUSSION ON MALARIA

VENUE: BISHOP HOWELLS MEMORIAL PRIMARY SCHOOL

DATE: 21ST, JULY 2014

Embracing a malaria free generation was the main objectives of the program and creating

awareness about malaria. The event started with the movement of the logistics team from Unilag to

the school at about 10am to set the operations for the events in motion. The headmistress of the

school was notified and a class was set up for our use.

Meanwhile, the arrival of VP Projects Rachael Bassey and other volunteers which comprised of

AIESECers and non-AIESECers commenced the program at about 12pm. The volunteers were given

cardboards to write on and design about the malaria project while the VP Projects introduced

AIESEC and the malaria projects to the pupils. Then she also introduced the doctors that would

speak and the volunteers with their cardboards.

We had two doctor s speak . Dr. Emeka spoke on what malaria is, its carrier, its mode of

transmission, and its symptoms, its preventive and curable measures.

Recreation games were created dancing and singing, taking pictures and the pupils were given a

task to draw a mosquito the volunteers assisted by showing the pupils pictures to draw from. The

gifts given to best pupils signified the end of the event.
