By March 2016, the knowledge
broker workforce will
collectively offer the
capabilities to support NHSS make efficient and effective
use of knowledge to
deliver practice and policy outcomes
Identify pilot projects, tests of change and other K2A work and engage in discussion about the opportunities to test the self assessment and mapping toolkit and how this can contribute to the delivery of outcomesUsing the toolkit identify ways to embed knowledge management tools and services in clinical and other pilotsDevelop case studies to illustrate to others the benefits of KM support from Knowledge Brokers
Develop capabilities of library staff and other knowledge brokers in line with the capability framework.
Strengthen the librarian role beyond the physical library; modernise the physical library resource.
Engage managers, leaders and educators to understand how to capitalize on the capabilities of the Knowledge Brokers to deliver outcomes and services
Test the self assessment toolkit and mapping tool in Health boards and to support projects and test of change Gather feedback on toolkits and Capability framework and revise accordinglyMap gaps in capabilities to identify learning needsProvide informal learning opportunitiesScope opportunities for formal learning and commission a formal learning programme
a.) Build case studies of innovative use of physical library resource.b) Provide buddying and peer observation opportunities to share examples of innovation and suggest improvements.c) Call for demonstrators of innovation in use of physical library space (dependent on identifying capital funding).

Scope
In order to support the national projects and local tests of change knowledge brokers will be provided with opportunities to develop the capabilities required to deliver knowledge into action in line with the Capability Framework
What success will look like
Knowledge Brokers including librarians will have their capabilities valued and they will be contributing to delivery of quality outcomes …
