Call for expression of interest to join the Alliance for Internet of Things Innovation (AIOTI)

The European Commission is launching a call for expression of
interest to join the Alliance for Internet of Things Innovation (AIOTI).
Any entity recognized by law and having a distinct legal personality, part of the Internet of Things (IoT) value chain and demonstrating to have a legitimate interest in being part of AIOTI, may register their interest to become a member.
The Commission is particularly interested in the demand side and in the service providers of the IoT value chain.

What is the AIOTI?Cross sector Synergies expected
AIOTI brings together:• different industries: nanoelectronics/semiconductor companies,
Telecom companies, Network operators, Platform Providers (IoT/Cloud), Security, Service providers
• Different sectors: energy, utilities, automotive, mobility, lighting, buildings, manufacturing, well-being, supply chains, cities etc.
• And some of Europe's largest tech and digital companies: – Alcatel, Bosch, Cisco, Hildebrand, IBM, Intel, Landis+Gyr, Nokia, NXP
Semiconductors, ON Semiconductor , Orange , OSRAM, Philips, Samsung , SIGFOX, Schneider Electric, Siemens, STMicroelectronics, Telecom Italia, Telefonica, Telit, Vodafone, Volvo
AIOTI Governance
The Working groups are structured as following, corresponding to current prominent areas of development in the field of IoT:
•WG 1: IoT European research cluster•WG 2: Innovation Ecosystems•WG 3: IoT Standardisation•WG 4: Policy issues (trust, security, liability, privacy)•WG 5: Smart living environments for ageing well (e.g. smart house)•WG 6: Smart farming and food security•WG 7: Wearables•WG 8: Smart cities•WG 9: Smart mobility (smart transport/smart vehicles/connected cars)•WG 10: Smart environment (smart water management)•WG 11: Smart manufacturing
Work going on
• Formal launch of the Alliance the 25th March 2015 during Net Future event in Brussels.
• ETSI has been nominated for chairing WG3 : Standardisation
