These times given must be considered as a reference for predicting operating needs. For aircraft with holds equipped for ULD, the cargo times given refer to this configuration. When the same aircraft operate with non palletised holds, operating times must be increased by 50%. Times given may be reduced by specific agreements between Airline and its handler, but application of such times is subject to informing the Airport Management which reserves the right to assess their consistence with operations or refuse application, should this compromise the correct functioning of airport assistance operations.

APPENDIX 8.3.7.B Number of aircraft in treatment/holding/movement to de-icing area

De/anti-icing operations An average treatment time of approximately 10’ per aircraft is considered. The standard taxi time and waiting time in position to enter the de-icing area need to be added to the average treatment time. Considering an average treatment time of approximately 10’ per aircraft, the following hypothesis can be assumed for the number of aircraft treated during de-icing operations, with the 4 stations working:

No. of stations working in area

1+ area 2 Treatment

At holding points

MVT to area (including any push-

backs)

Total active aircraft

4 4 4 4 12

6 6 5 4 15

7 6 5 5 16

No. of stations working in

area 3 Treatment

At holding points

MVT to area (including any push-

backs)

Total active aircraft

1 1 1 / 2

2 2 1 / 3

During normal operations with only De-icing area 1 working, all 4 stations are preferably open (K1, Z1, 794, 795). This does not necessarily mean that 4 crews are available to operate the equipment. The Terminal Operator on the follow-me will inform the TWR and SEA Coordinamento di Scalo Apron Station of any operating problems concerning flights that are being treated (e.g. any technical problems with the aircraft). If working, stands 791, 792 and 793 (De-icing area 2) are used solely for treating third level aircraft and regional jets.

De/anti-icing + De-snowing operations An average treatment time of approximately 20’ per aircraft is considered. The standard taxi time and waiting time in position to enter the de-icing/de-snowing area need to be added to the average treatment time.

When working, stands 791, 792 and 793 (De-icing area 2) will be used solely for treating third level aircraft and regional jets. These times may vary, with coordination between Operators, depending on the type of weather conditions, their intensity and operating conditions at the airport. The taxi time may also change, according to the type of weather conditions at the airport. The capacity to treat aircraft depends on how much equipment is available, how it is managed, the type of aircraft treated and the type of treatment used. The Duty Manager, in contact with the CSO TWR, will therefore assess a sustainable level of activity, based on values for the specific circumstances and average treatment times actually recorded. ONLY aircraft for which de-anti icing / de-snowing treatment is necessary are included in the definition of this level of activity.

APPENDIX 8.3.7.C Specifities of de-icing stand opening criteria

The number of used vehicles is not depending on number of active stations; de-icing personnel will operate so that all available active stand will always be occupied. SEA will take care of the optimization of vehicles use in stands. Use of stands in Area 3 (201, 202, 203, 204) for de-icing/de-snowing operations will be coordinated by SEA-ENAV according to the assessment of Airport Manager. As regarding circulation in visibility conditions 3, that is with LVP procedure activated, please refer to current “All weather operations” document.

APPENDIX 8.3.7.D Engine status during de/anti-icing operations

The engine status (engines on/off) of aircraft subject to de/anti-icing and de-snowing operations shall be as follows:

for aircraft with 2 turbine engines: engines on idle power;

for aircraft with 3 turbine engines (DC10, MD11): only two engines below the wings on (Idle Power), the tail engine must be off to facilitate equipment spraying the empennage;

for aircraft with 4 turbine engines: the two external engines must be off, the two internal ones on idle power;

for aircraft with propellers: propellers must be stopped during operations, when possible;

particular situations such as unavailability of the APU and whether or not it is possible to stop the propellers will be assessed on a case-by-case basis with the CNA or technicians present.

APPENDIX 8.3.7.G Notes about de-icing service

One or two-step treatment

One-step treatment During one-step treatment the removal (de-icing) and protection (anti-icing) operations are performed in one application only, using a warm mix of anti-ice fluid and water (e.g.: 50%) thus cleaning the surfaces covered in ice and providing anti-ice protection on the surfaces concerned with a single application.

Two-step treatment During two-step treatment, the removal (de-icing/de-snowing) and protection (anti-icing) operations take place in two separate phases. The first step, cleaning, is performed with a warm mix of anti-ice fluid and water depending on the environmental temperature (e.g.: 10%, 50%). The second, protective, is performed once the surfaces are clean with warm mix of fluid and water (e.g.: 50%), or with 100% (undiluted) fluid at environmental temperature. Analyses of the liquids Airline Company operators or their representatives may, after submitting a written request and subject to coordination with SEA, take samples of the anti-icing liquid from the storage deports and the vehicles. SEA Trasporti Integrati will have for the customary periodical tests run, updating the related records associated with each vehicle in compliance with procedure no. PO07.

Documentation SEA will handle all the written records related to de-icing operations, including the final figures for services performed by filling in the relevant forms. SEA Trasporti Integrati will be responsible, at the end of the operations, for delivering a summary of the services performed and the slips for all the flights Coordinamento di Scalo, for subsequent invoicing.

Conditions for applicability In order for the values in the table to be applicable, reference should be made to general

operability conditions at the airport and to operating conditions controlled by the Airline that

may affect compliance with a given parameter. These conditions are listed below, by way of example:

- normal weather conditions (that do not restrict flows and/or low visibility procedures); - proper operation of IT systems;

- timely, comprehensive operating information

- flights arriving on time; - compliance with the type of scheduled aircraft;

- no extraordinary maintenance jobs on centralised facilities; - the indicator relating to check-in queuing time applies to a type of scheduled

flights that do not require accessory services (e.g.: profiling, distribution of charter flight vouchers, etc.).

Reference must also be made to the value of peak-days and how they affect operability at the

Airport.
