Basic Television Reception to fully Interactive Networked Services

Standard Freeview TV

Airwave understands the needs of hospitals and patients and has developed a multi-tierapproach ranging from basic television reception to fully interactive networked services withtouchscreen control. We know that some hospitals do not want to charge their patients forwatching television whilst others would like to make a return to cover the cost of providingthe service. Each hospital has a different set of needs and Airwave matches that need to theproduct and service provided.

Additional international channels with the latesthead-end technology enables the delivery of high quality foreign language satellitechannels directly onto the screens of FreeviewTVs in a pure digital format.

Our key partners in professional Hospitality TVare LG, Philips, Samsung, Sharp and Sony andwe buy directly from these companies and moreimportantly, liaise directly with their technicaland R&D teams. By installing Freeview, hospitalscan easily implement a known solution providingall available Freeview services and install onto anexisting RF coax network subject to technicalsurvey. Freeview is a robust and reliable solutionand easy to support and maintain.

Simplicity of use coupled with a wide choice of content,excellent sound and vision is of course paramount for thepatient. It has propelled Hospitals fromthe world of delivering fourgrainy channels, to one ofsupplying 80 crystal clear digital TV and radio channels(some in HD with the rightequipment). A Smart AND Hygienic Healthcare TV solution – Airwave Healthcare are proud toadd the new Samsung range of healthcare TVs to our Patient Entertainment solution portfolio.We gave Samsung feedback from our customers about specific healthcare requirements andthey developed what we consider to be the perfect TV solution for Hospitals and otherhealthcare establishments.

Available in either blackor white finish, the 4 Series range fromSamsung has built inFreeview, and available ina choice of 19”, 22”, 26”and 32” screen sizes.

Additional TV solutionsare available including TV with built-in DVD andTVs with new energysaving LED backlightingtechnology.

Complimenting the TV, Samsung has now launchedthe PureCare remote control which is simple to use,easy to read and most importantly fully wipeable. This white PureCare remote is supplied as standardwith their white TV’s and can be purchased as anaccessory with black models (Some existingSamsung TV’s may also be compatible, pleasecontact Airwave Healthcare for further advice).

The PureCare remote control also incorporates a multiset up feature making it a must for multi-beddedareas. Samsung healthcare remotes can be set to upto ten different codes preventing cross changing ofchannels and volume settings in bays.

Traditional remotes with raised buttons are difficult and time consuming to clean and researchhas shown just how unhygienic a remote control can be. Infection Control departments havebeen asking for this type of TV remote to help prevent cross contamination between patients,staff and visitors as just about everyone in hospital handles the TV remote.

Smoovie HealthcareThe Smoovie remote has quickly established itself as both a method of controlling access to selectedchannels and as a simple mechanism for a PAY TV solution and easy to manage revenue generation

Working with renowned Glamox Luxo and ErgoMountsmounting arms and brackets Airwave can design optimum fixing solutions for TVs required on multiplefixing variations. Our series of bespoke and premiumhospital mounting solutions incorporate revolutionarydesign features providing effortless movement enablingpatients to view TV while sitting or lying in bed and alsowhilst seated in an adjacent chair. In cases of clinicalemergencies staff can immediately swing the TV ormonitor up and out of the way enabling direct access to the patient. All solutions are fully cable managed,have a high quality finish designed to meet modernhealthcare control standards and can be cleaned with all hospital grade cleaning solutions.

Each Smoovie controls the TV and can be sold or given to thepatient at the beginning of their stay. This is a great benefit interms of infection control as well as a way for the hospital togenerate revenues from television.

The Smoovie Healthcare remote comes in 2 day, 3 day, 5 dayand 7 day versions and can either be sold at the hospital shopor via vending machines.

There is a ring at the base enabling it to be connected to alanyard or key ring (Ski-pass type), to ensure it is within easyreach of the patient and does not get lost under bedclothes.

Smoovie can be used with just the normal channels OR withpay movie content and has the benefit of four different infrared codes for multi bedded areas
