The chief guest of the day Prof. Dr. Kuncheria P Isaac, the Vice-Chancellor of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University inaugurated the college day celebrations by lighting the traditional lamp. In his inaugural address he stressed the significance of engineering profession. He stated that modern day engineers need to develop new concepts and ideas to be competitive in a globalized world. Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery, Manager presented an impressive retrospection of the year that was. His Grace Most Rev Dr. Francis Kallarackal, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Verapoly and patron of AISAT presided over the function. He mentioned that the engineers of tomorrow should not only have engineering knowledge and skill, but also a talent for using these skills and knowledge in a humanitarian way. Prof.Dr. Babu T. Jose, Director gave an insightful Sponsion 16 AISAT organized “Sponsion 16” an oath taking and farewell ceremony on May 4, 2016 for the first outgoing batch(2012-16) of the college . The event started with a prayer song by Ms. Shipla A.B of S8 CSE. Prof. Dr K.E.George, Principal, welcomed the gathering. The chief guest of the day Very Rev. Msgr. Mathew Elenjimattom, Vicar General of Archdiocese of Verapoly, graciously presided over the function. He elaborately opined the importance of 'CHAI' principle which means Curiosity, Humility, Adaptability and Industriousness. The key note speaker of the day, Mr Rajan M, Senior Manager (HR), Petronet Ltd, urged the students to sharpen their skill set and also explained the latest technological advancements such as 'Uber and Whatsapp'. Prof. Dr. Babu T Jose, Director led the oath taking ceremony. Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery, Manager wished the students a successful prospection of a promising future. The Vice-Chancellor released the annual college magazine “AKSHARA-15”, by handing over the first copy to the student editor. The foundation stone for ‘Ashwas Bhavan’, the first house to be built for the homeless by AISAT Ashwas Center (AACe) was blessed by the Archbishop. The guest of honour was Smt. Jessy Peter, Chairperson-Kalamassery Municipality. The Municipal Chairperson released the logo and the bylaws of AISAT Alumni Association. Merit awards, proficiency awards and scholarships to the toppers in the university examinations were presented by the dignitaries. Ms. Riya Benny of S8 CE received the coveted Prof.Dr. Babu T Jose Gold medal for the Best Outgoing Student from His Grace Most Rev Dr. Francis Kallarackal. Mr. Akshay M R, College Union Chairman proposed the vote of thanks. The formal function was followed by a cultural extravaganza by the students. career. Very Rev. Msgr. Mathew Elenjimattom, distributed the course completion certificate to the students. Rev. Fr. Alex Kurishuparambil,Assoc. Manager, honoured the guests of the day by presenting them mementos. ‘AISAT DAY’ was celebrated on March 11, 2015, with the usual grandeur and festivity. The chief guest of the day Prof. Dr. Kuncheria P Isaac, the Vice-Chancellor of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University inaugurated the college day celebrations by lighting the traditional lamp. AISAT towards the dream of 100% Placement for Eligible Students

Placement and Training Cell of AISAT has

marked its success by earning good number

of job offers from various industries for the

students. It is surely a commendable

achievement and a matter of pride to secure

placement offers from the reputed industries

in the country for the majority of eligible

students of the first pass-out batch 2012-

2016. 98.7 % job offers have been received

for the 2012-2016 batch till May 2016.

The students of first batch were given special

awareness and guidance for their successful

transition from a student to a professional.

The intensive training programs proved to be

highly effective with the attainment of a good

number of placement offers.

The training for the S6 students is continuing

for 2013-17 batch for the placements.

AISAT-GATEWAY to Engineering 16

An awareness programme for engineering-aspirants tit led 'AISAT-GATEWAY to Engineering' was held on May 14, 2016, at AISAT. Prof. Vincent K.John, Vice Principal, welcomed the gathering. The inaugural address was delivered by Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery, Manager. Prof. Dr. Babu T. Jose, Director in his keynote address spoke about AISAT – the college with a difference and scholarships and fee concessions offered by AISAT.

Key to Success and Procedure for Admission to AISAT was explained by Associate Professor Paul Ansel V, Head of the Department, Electronics & Communication Engineering. A brief Introduction to various eng ineer ing s t reams and the job opportunities was given by expert faculties from all the depar tments. Placement achievements of the college were briefed by

Silver Jubilee of the Priestly Ordination of Rev. Fr. Alex KurisuparambilAISAT organized a joyous function to mark the Silver Jubilee of the Priestly Ordination of Rev. Fr. Alex Kurisuparambil, the Associate Manager on April 18, 2016.

Prof. Dr. K.E. George, Principal addressed the gathering and congratulated Fr.Alex Kurisuparambil and wished him all success and glory in the years to come. A wonderful retrospection of the life and journey of Fr.Alex Kurisuparambil followed this. Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery, Manager in his felicitation recollected the memorable moments he had with Rev.Fr.Alex Kurisuparambil.

Prof. Dr. Babu T Jose, Director, Prof. Jose V Mathew, Prof. Dr. P X Joseph and Mr. Leonard John C, Administrative Officer, also shared their thoughts on Fr. Alex and wished him the very best in the years ahead.

Dr. George Sleeba, Dean, adorned 'Ponnada' on Fr.Alex as a token of respect and love. Prof. Vincent K John, Vice Principal, presented a bouquet and Fr. John Christopher, Asst. Manager, presented a memento to mark the occasion. Rev. Fr. Alex Kurishuparambil gave an inspiring and heart touching reply and thanked everyone for their love and support.

Ms. Sreelekha K.V, Asst. Professor, Department of EEE, delivered the vote of thanks. A sapling of the tree 'Lakshmi Taru',was planted in the college premises by Rev. Fr. Alex Kurishuparambil.

Blood Donation CampA blood donation camp was conducted at AISAT in association with the Lourdes Hospital, Ernakulam on April 22, 2016. The camp was organized by NSS Unit and Ashwas Centre of the college. This was inaugurated by Ms. Veemol Varghese, Ward Councillor, Kalamassery Muncipality.

Prof. Vincent K John, Vice Principal welcomed the gathering. Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery, Manager presided over the function. Rev. Sr. Josna, Blood Bank Coordinator, Lourdes hospital felicitated the gathering. Rev. Fr. Alex Kurishuparambil, Associate Manager initiated the process of blood donation by donating his blood. Most of the staff and students voluntarily donated their blood for a good cause. The programme was an immense success, and it fulfilled the noble motto of imparting social commitment and values in younger generation.

World Environment Day CelebrationThe Nature club of Albertian Institute of Science and Technology in association with Green Vein organization celebrated World Environment Day by planting saplings at college campus on June 6, 2016. Swami Samvidanand, Chief co-ordinator of Green Vein Organization was the chief guest for the celebration. He appreciated the initiatives taken by AISAT to promote activities for protecting nature by planting saplings of herbal trees to protect against communicative diseases spreading during the rainy season.

Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery, Manager officially inaugurated the program by planting the first sapling. Swami Samvidanand, Chief co-ordinator of Green Vein organization, Rev. Fr. Alex Kurishuparambil, Associate Manager, AISAT, Rev.Fr. John Christopher, Assistant Manager, Prof. Dr. K. E. George, Principal, Prof. Dr. P. X. Joseph, faculties and students also planted saplings.

Novel features of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) were elaborated by Prof. P. P. Premachandran. Mr. Harikrishnan M, Asst. Professor, Department of CSE proposed vote of thanks. The programme was extremely beneficial for the engineering aspirants and their parents to gather an idea about the importance of a technical career and the various disciplines of engineering.

The NSS Unit of AISAT organised an awareness session on the rise of obesity among increasing number of people at AISAT on April 7, 2016. The topic was selected in accordance with the World Health Day message to the world by WHO which emphasized on controlling diabetes.

The inaugural function was blessed with esteemed presence of Rev. Fr. Alex Kurishuparambil, Associate Manager, Rev. Fr. John Christopher, Assistant Manager and Prof.Vincent K John, Vice Principal. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Vincent K John, Vice Principal by checking his own BMI.

The event had around 200 participants which included faculties from various departments, students and non-teaching staff. The event was successful in incorporating a positive attitude towards maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

AISAT in association with SEEM celebrated National Technology day on May 11, 2016 focusing on the theme 'Advances in Technologies for Sustainable Development'. Prof. Dr. K E George, Principal welcomed the gathering. The program was presided over by Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery, Manager. Prof. Dr. Babu T. Jose, Director, inaugurated the session. Mr. Antony Joseph, Chairman, SEEM Kerala Chapter felicitated the gathering.

There were three technical sessions handled by various speakers from SEEM, Kerala Chapter. The first session was handled by Mr. Jayaraman C on the topic 'Sustainable Development', the second session by Mr. G Krishnakumar, Empower Global Management Solutions on the topic 'Technologies for sustainable development' and third session by Mr. Aseem K. on 'Energy audit for sustainable development'. Mr. Titus Philip, Treasurer, SEEM Kerala Chapter proposed vote of thanks.

· A value addition program on “CREO” classes was conducted by Intercad Systems Pvt. Ltd. for the students of Department of ME on 5, 6 & 7 March, 2016. The event was co-ordinated by Mr. Roy Varghese, Asst. Professor, Department of ME.

· As part of the series 'Meet your elders in profession' - organized by the Department of CE, on March 15,2016, Mr. Rajasekhar P, Joint General Manager, KITCO, Cochin delivered a talk on structural and functional aspects of the newly constructed international terminal at Cochin International Airport, Nedumbassery.

· As part of the series 'Meet your elders in profession' - organized by the Department of CE, Mr. M.M Mohandas, MD, Malayil Builders delivered a talk on March 30, 2016. The S6 & S8 CE students attended the talk.

· Final year students of Department of ME students initiated a program on “Recycling of e-waste” on April 5, 2016, by keeping boxes in the 3 blocks of the campus to collect e-waste - used pens & plastic bottles as part of their final year project. They have developed an “e-waste shredder” which can powder the e-waste.

· Demonstration regarding the Mechanical Industrial updates by Mr. Dinesh Deva and Mr. Deepak Vidyadharan, CADD Centre, Palarivattom was arranged on April 1, 2016 for final year ME students under the co-ordination of Mr. Roy Varghese, Asst. Professor, Department of ME.

Mr. Tiju Baby, Asst.Professor, Department of EEE and Mr. Alex Paul, Asst. Professor, Department of ME coordinated the session 'An Introduction to M.Voc' by the faculty of CUSAT on April 6, 2016 for S8 students.

· Soft Skill Development and Career Guidance and Resume writing session was held on April 13, 2016 for S4 & S6 ME students by Mr. Gilbert, IMS India which was co-ordinated by Mr. Calixtus Vincent, Asst. Professor, Department of ME.

· A talk on 'Importance of GATE Score' by Mr. Vishnu Loana Jacob, Gate Academy Kaloor was conducted on April15, 2016 for S4 ME students. Mr. Majo Davis, Asst.Professor, Department of ME co-ordinated the programme.

· Department of CSE conducted a “Dinning Etiquette and Table Manners" class for S8 CSE students under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Anand Mannalil in April 18, 2016.

· Mr. Jeswin Roy Dcouth, Asst.Professor, Department of CSE presented a paper entitled 'A Survey on Different Steganograpy Techniques on Text, Image, Audio & Video Files' at the National Conference on Emerging Technologies (NACET 2K16) held on April 8, 2016 at MES College of Engineering & Technology, Kunnukara.

· Mr. Antonio Joseph, Asst. Professor, Department of ME has registered for Ph.D Programme at CUSAT

· Mr. Alsaf Nazeer, Ms.Jisha Sajeev and Ms. Catherine K.G of S8 CSE & Ms. Aathira M, Mr. Ahmad Kabeer and Mr.Merlin John of S8 CE qualified GATE 2016

· Ms. Anila Andrew Pereira, Mr. Arjun Sankar, Mr. James Emmanuel and Ms. Silpa M M of S8 EEE won the first prize in Techviz- paper presentation competition organized as a part of Agvero '16 by Ilahia School of Science and Technology, Muvattupuzha on April 4, 2016.

· Mr. Arun Benedict, Mr. Ashwin Ashok, Mr. Binoy Bernard and Mr. Suman Francis of S8 EEE won the second prize in Techviz - paper presentation competition organized as a part of Agvero '16 by Ilahia School of Science and Technology, Muvattupuzha on April 4, 2016.

· Mr. Albert Vincent Louis, Mr. Anish Soman, Ms. Remya Sadananadan and Mr. Sherwin Jose of S8 EEE participated in the paper presentation competition Techviz on April 4, 2016 which was organized as a part of Agvero '16 by Ilahia School of Science and Technology, Muvattupuzha.

Faculty AchievementToastmaster International is a non profit organization started in

1924, which operates worldwide for the purpose of helping

members improve their communication, public speaking, and

leadership skills. AISAT TM Club is the only toastmasters club

in an Engineering College in Kerala. In two years of its inception

the club has won various laurels in the competitions conducted

by TMI. The latest to the kitty is the first prize bagged by CC Paul Ansel V., in the

Division Level Table topics contest held on April 17, 2016 at Riveria Suits,

Thevara. Congratulations to Mr. Paul Ansel V., Associate Professor, Department

of ECE, for this coveted achievement.
