Quillin The Healing Power of Cayenne Pepper

In a recent letter to the editors of the New England Journal of Medicine, three Italian doctors describe how they were able to reduce patients' reported dyspepsia symptoms by more than half - by prescribing red pepper powder. In a study of 30 patients with functional dyspepsia, half of the participants received a placebo, while the other half took 2.5 grams of red pepper powder each day (divided into capsules taken before each of three meals). Today cayenne is used worldwide to treat a variety of health conditions, including poor circulation, weak digestion, heart disease, chronic pain, sore throats, headaches and toothache.

Ayurveda also utilizes cayenne to treat poor digestion and gas. Chinese medicine uses cayenne for digestive ailments.

When taken internally, cayenne soothes the digestive tract and stimulates the flow of stomach secretions and saliva. These secretions contain substances which help digest food.

Cayenne is the greatest herbal aid to circulation and can be used on a regular basis. Dr. Richard Schulze, the medical herbalist, says that "If you master only one herb in your life, master cayenne pepper. It is more powerful than any other."Cayenne moves blood

There is no other herb which increases your blood flow faster than cayenne. Cayenne moves blood. When people ask Dr. Schultze, "What are the 10 most important herbs to have in the home?" He tells them, "At the top of the list is cayenne pepper, because it will make the other 9 work better."

Cayenne is the greatest blood circulation stimulant known. You can take all the milk thistle you want, but if you have bad circulation to your liver, it's not going to do you any good. Cayenne increases your blood circulation immediately within seconds, more than any other herb.

When you have a sick area, there's often a restriction of blood flow to that area. Blood flow is what takes nutrition and the healing properties of herbs to those cells. Blood flow is also what carries out and removes waste material. Cayenne pepper is like TNT. It blasts through all that blockage to get to that area which is sick, taking with it all the minerals and vitamins from the foods you eat, and all the vital chemicals from the herbs you take - all the way to the sick area.

Cayenne pepper is usually labeled 40,000, 60,000, 90,000 or more heat units. Generally, the higher the number of heat units, the more beneficial. The lower-heat cayenne peppers are a lot less efficient, and they are the ones which are most highly contaminated. These are the ones you see labeled for 30,000 heat units. These are the ones to stay away from.People who are not used to cayenne just need to work their way up. One problem people have is that they blow their mouths with cayenne, right off the bat. For those who have never used cayenne pepper before, a good initial dosage is 1/16th of a teaspoonful in some juice. Work your way up in dosage slowly. Put a small amount in some juice, stir and drink. Delicious. cayenne pepper

Cayenne powder

It is recommended that the cayenne powder be used, as opposed to capsules. It is believed that you are only getting a small part of the potential effect of cayenne pepper by taking it in capsules. When you put cayenne in your mouth, your stomach secretes digestive juices before the cayenne ever gets there. So when the cayenne gets down there, your stomach is ready for it.

But if you swallow a capsule, your tongue tastes nothing. A capsule goes down in your stomach, and your stomach notices nothing, at first. Then, 5 minutes later the gelatin bursts, and you have a 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper in your stomach and your body is shocked. You surprised it.

What is going on is that some of cayenne's healing action occurs right in your mouth. As cayenne touches your tongue, the cayenne absorbs in seconds and nerve endings send signals throughout the body - sending waves of fresh blood throughout your body.

My favorite source for high quality, non-irradiated cayenne pepper 90,000 heat units by the pound is here. (If the link goes to a blank page, just search their site for 'cayenne'.) I also like Puritan Pride's special "Buy 2 Get 3 FREE" promotions on cayenne.

Page 3: Aji amarillo camba

I highly recommend the book "The Health Benefits of Cayenne" by John Heinerman if you want to learn more about the power of cayenne. There is no other herb stronger or more effective than cayenne to make immediate physiological and metabolic changes in the body.

Sure, there are a few heating herbs like ginger and horseradish, but what other herb can you put in somebody's mouth and all of a sudden it makes their faces look like cherries? I don't know another herb that will do that, and cayenne does that through your whole body. Use it to improve blood flow throughout your body.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cayenne Pepper - Cayenne and Health(Capsicum annum)

Many herbalists believe that Cayenne is the most useful and valuable herb in the herb kingdom, not only for the entire digestive system, but also for the heart and circulatory system. It acts as a catalyst and increases the effectiveness of other herbs when used with them.

Cayenne is a medicinal and nutritional herb. It is a very high source of Vitamins A & C, has the complete B complexes, and is very rich in organic calcium and potassium, which is one of the reasons it is good for the heart.

Digestion

Cayenne can rebuild the tissue in the stomach and the peristaltic action in the intestines. It aids elimination and assimilation, and helps the body to create hydrochloric acid, which is so necessary for good digestion and assimilation, especially of proteins. All this becomes very significant when we realize that the digestive system plays the most important role in mental, emotional and physical health, as it is through the digestive system that the brain, glands, muscles and every other part of the body are fed.

Heart

Cayenne has been known to stop heart attacks within 30 seconds. For example, when a 90-year-old man in Oregon had a severe heart attack, his daughter was able to get Cayenne extract into his mouth. He was pronounced dead by the medics, but within a few minutes, he regained consciousness. On the way to the hospital, he remained in a semi-conscious state, but the daughter kept giving him the Cayenne extract. By the time they got to the hospital, he had fully recovered and wanted to go home and mow the lawn. The doctor asked what she had given him, as he said it was the closest thing to a miracle he had ever seen.

If a heart attack should occur, it is suggested that a teaspoon of extract be given every 15 minutes or a teaspoon of Cayenne in a glass of hot water be taken until the crisis has passed. Dr. Anderson also knew of a doctor who rushed out into the parking lot and put cayenne tincture into the mouth of a man who had died of a heart attack while he was parking his car. Within a few minutes, the man’s heart starting beating again.

According to Dr. Richard Anderson, using cayenne and hawthorn berries together has a most incredible effect upon the heart. He believes that a regimen of cayenne and hawthorn berries for several months will greatly strengthen the heart, and possibly prevent heart attacks. He states further that if an attack were to occur in someone who had followed this regimen, chances are very good that no damage would occur. He tells the following story about his mother:

“I had her taking hawthorn berries and cayenne when she had a heart attack at the age of 79. Her diet had not been the best, and she was in an extremely stressful situation. While in the hospital, they found three blocked arteries and wanted to operate immediately. They did not think that she could survive for more than a few weeks if they didn’t operate. (How many have heard that story!) The doctors thought it would be very risky to operate, but they had her there, and there was a lot of money to be made. So they decided to take some tests in the hopes that they could find an excuse to operate. In spite of the fact that she had been taking lots of aspirin for her arthritis, smoked like she was the reincarnation of a boiler factory, and had just had a heart attack, they found that her heart was incredibly strong. In fact, they felt that her heart was stronger than most people in their 30’s! The good news was that not only did she survive the operation, but also she stopped smoking! Well worth the operation, don’t you think? In my opinion, that was the best thing the doctors ever did for her. Well, that is what hawthorn and cayenne can do for the heart, and every good herbalist knows it; every good doctor should also know it, but very few do.”

Emergencies

It is a good idea to always have some Cayenne extract on hand for emergencies. Dr. Anderson carries capsules of cayenne with him in the car and whenever he goes hiking, backpacking or mountain climbing. He says, “You never know when you may find someone having a heart attack or some other emergency.”

The following stories demonstrate only a few of the remarkable emergency uses of cayenne.

If a hemorrhage occurs in the lungs, stomach, uterus or nose, it is suggested that a teaspoon of extract (or a teaspoon of cayenne powder in a cup of hot water) be given every 15 minutes until the

Page 5: Aji amarillo camba

crisis has passed. The bleeding should stop in 10-30 seconds. The reason for this is that rather than the blood pressure being centralized, it is equalized by the Cayenne, and the clotting action of the blood becomes more rapid. For external bleeding, take cayenne internally and pour cayenne directly on the wound.

Dr. Anderson tells of one time when he was on the beach and a man began passing a kidney stone. The man took some cayenne, which relieved his pain almost immediately.

A person known to Dr. Anderson had a severe toothache in the middle of the night on a weekend. He tried many things to relieve the pain. Cayenne was the only thing that helped.

One of the youngest persons to take cayenne was a six-week old baby who was born with chronic asthma. Dr. John Christopher administered the cayenne using an eyedropper, and it then became possible for the baby to breathe normally.

Dr. Christopher has used cayenne to eliminate allergies, varicose veins, cramps, constipation, and to increase energy.

Dr. Anderson recommends cayenne to help cleanse the body, increase body heat, improve circulation, and strengthen the eyes. But above all, Dr. Anderson feels that cayenne is exceptionally beneficial for the heart.

Heart Attacks: CayenneDr. Christopher

"In 35 years of practice, and working with the people and teaching, I have never on house calls lost one heart attack patient and the reason is, whenever I go in--if they are still breathing--I pour down them a cup of cayenne tea (a teaspoon of cayenne in a cup of hot water, and within minutes they are up and around). This is one of the fastest acting aids we could ever give for the heart, because it feeds that heart immediately. Most hearts are suffering from malnutrition because of processed food we are eating, but here it gets a good powerful dose of real food and it's something that has brought people in time after time. This is something that everyone should know how great it is, because a heart attack can come to your friends or loved ones any time. And even yourself. The warm tea is faster working than tablets, capsules, cold tea, because the warm tea opens up the cell structure--makes it expand and accept the cayenne that much faster, and it goes directly to the heart, through the artery system, and feeds it in powerful food. "

EMERGENCY USES 2

The late herbalist and author John Christopher always carried a pocketful of cayenne pepper capsules and saved the lives of many people who had a sudden heart attack in his presence. Just open the capsules and dump the cayenne under the tongue. Author Dick Quinn, having failed to recover from a Quadruple Bypass operation and told by his doctors that nothing could save him, managed to prolong his life 17 years by the regular ingestion of cayenne pepper. I carry cayenne capsules with me all the time. Never know when you might be able to save a life.

Carry a tincture of cayenne pepper and give yourself a bunch of squirts into the mouth. Dr. Schulze has saved many from heart damage by this technology, as this story taken from Herbal Therapy for Serious Illness Issue#1 (1997) A Health Newsletter by Sam Biser, relates.

Offered by Mike.

Schulze: I was once waiting for a patient, a man in his 50's who had a previous heart attack, and who was just beginning my programs. He was late, so I asked my secretary to see if he had arrived. His car was parked in the driveway and it looked as if he was sleeping in it. When she went out to wake him up and bring him in, she became hysterical. She came running in and told me he was dead. I ran out to the car and he was beyond blue, he was slate-grey, cold, and did look dead. I saw no breathing and felt no pulse. I put 12 whole dropperfulls of cayenne tincture into the mouth of this literally dead man.

Biser: Isn't that way too much? Couldn't that hurt him?

Schulze: Who Cares if the man has a sore throat for a week afterward? If you don't do something in seconds, then he's definitely dead.

Biser: So what happened?

Schulze: His face began to turn red - before I even started CPR, and we revived him in seconds. The paramedics took him to the hospital, and later I talked with the emergency room physician. He said that he had rarely seen a person who was so far gone, survive. And, he had never seen a person that bad, who had literally no heart damage. I think this can also be attributed to the fact that this man had been taking hawthorn berry concentrates, for months before he ever came to see me. Hawthorn is a known heart protectant.

Here's my point on this whole case: I gave this man 360 drops (30-40 drops per dropperful) of cayenne tincture. This is a dose no one would dream of. Everyone else wimps around with a couple of dropperfuls - and to tell you the truth, they wouldn't even know to use it at all in this situation. Secondly, this wasn't ordinary cayenne tincture. This was tincture so powerful it makes the stuff you can buy at healthfood stores and herbs suppliers look like colored water.

Mexican Habaneros between 250,000 and 300,000 Scoville Units. Compare that to the 40,000 Heat units that herbal companies sell you. Add enough 40%-alcohol vodka to just cover these chopped and powdered peppers by about 1 inch. Use a blender to assist. Start on the new moon. Let it sit until the Full moon (minimum time), about 14 days, shaking it many times each day. On the Full moon, strain it off through a clean old tee shirt, pressing and straining real tight. Wash your hands well. The cayenne stays on your hand, so wash your hands three times. I let almost all of my tinctures sit for three full months before I strain them.

Page 8: Aji amarillo camba

etwas schleimig.

Page 12: Aji amarillo camba

FORMULA

The BEST Cayenne Pepper Tincture is made by the following Dr. Schulze Method:

1. Start to make this and ANY Tincture, if possible, on a NEW Moon. (In case of fresh CAYENNE PEPPER )

2. Take a Quart Canning Jar and fill it 1/4 FULL with DRIED Cayenne Peppers, getting the HOTTEST ones (i.e. - Habanero, African Bird, Serrano, Jalapeno - 90,000+ Heat Units), that you can obtain.

3. Add enough 50% Grain Alcohol (100 Proof Vodka) to the Cayenne Peppers (powdered, using a Blender or Grinder) to just COVER them.

4. Use enough FRESH Cayenne Peppers, that you can blend with 50% Grain Alcohol (100 Proof Vodka) to turn the Mixture into an Apple Sauce-Like Consistency.

5. Add this Mixture to the 1st Mixture, filling up the Canning Jar 3/4 FULL.

6. Fill up the rest of the Canning Jar with MORE 50% Grain Alcohol (100 Proof Vodka).

7. Shake it as MANY times as possible, during the Day.

8. Let this Mixture sit, until the following FULL Moon (15-16 Days), but OPTIMALLY until the following NEW Moon (28-29 Days)!

9. Strain this Mixture through an UNBLEACHED Coffee Filter.

10. Bottle the RESULTING Tincture.

NOTE: Part EQUALS Volume, NOT Weight in this Tincture Method. Modify this procedure by using DRIED Herbs ONLY, if FRESH Herbs are NOT AVAILABLE, and when making other Herbal Tinctures also.

Also if you want to make a SUPER-POTENT Tincture (i.e. - Cayenne Pepper & Lobelia Seed Pod - see below), then allow the Mixture to sit for a FULL 3 Months!

More Herbs for the Heart - Cardiovascular System

Botanical Influences on Cardiovascular Diseaseby Alan L. Miller, N.D.

The best-known herb for the heart in western herbalism is Hawthorn (Crataegus ). The extract of hawthorn can increase blood flow to the heart muscle itself, helping to counteract one of the most common modern causes of death in industrial countries--heart attack due to lack of blood flow to the heart. In pharmacological tests on both animals and humans, hawthorn has been shown to improve the contractility of the heart muscle (which can lead to a stronger pumping action of the heart), increase cardiac performance and output, lower the peripheral vascular resistance (reducing the workload of the heart), steady the heartbeat (antiarrhythmic effect), as well as increasing the heart's tolerance to oxygen deficiency, such as might happen during stress or

Page 17: Aji amarillo camba

excitement, or in diseases where the arteries are partially blocked."

Standardized Hawthorn Extract(Crataegus oxyacantha)

Hawthorn can be used as part of a comprehensive wellness program to promote cardiovascular health. Hawthorn leaf, stem and flower extracts have been shown to promote healthy heart function by improving blood and nutrient flow to the heart muscle. A healthy heart helps maintain healthy blood flow and nutrient delivery throughout the body.

Cayenne- Hawthorn: A synergistic blend of popular cayenne and hawthorn combined with powerful antioxidants Vitamin E and Lecithin.

Surviving a heart attack without hospital interventionA testimonial by Shirley (author of this website)

My husband had a severe heart attack (MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION - an area of tissue death due to blocking off of its blood supply). I credit his full recovery to the following: hawthorn berries (crataegus) extract--- 10 drops twice a day; kyolic (aged garlic), magnesium citrate, ginseng, flaxoil, selenium, zinc, vitamins A & E as well as other multi vitamins; and 2 tablespoons of flaxoil.
