School Magazine Being Published
Thanks to Dale Robertson (Acting Master Teacher and Teacher Librarian) and Katie Falcnik (Promotions Officer) we now have a magazine that will preserve the memories of 2017 into print and photographs Generous sponsorship has meant that the magazine will be available to all students free of charge
There are articles poems and graphic art provided by the students articles about events and activities and many colourful photographs of our staff and students at work and play
Sports Awards Assembly to Recognise High Performance
On Monday 27 November there is a special assembly to highlight and recognise the many sporting achievements that our students have been involved in during the year Beginning at 200 pm the program will feature both individual and team recognition The Allan Rollo Sportsperson of the Year award is a tradition that carries the name of a former teacher of this school who is remembered for his professional contribution to the lives of many students over a considerable length of time
Congratulations must go to Mr Moores and Mr Gason who over the past couple of years have established the foundations for current success that paves the way for a healthy and enjoyable future for our students in sport and physical education
Final Parents and Citizensrsquo Association Meeting next week
At the last meeting of 2017 I shall be presenting the Association with the areas where the school will be seeking financial support This will then be available for debate in the New Year for a final decision at the AGM in February
As previously circulated plans for the future are focused on infrastructure to provide opportunities for all students to enhance their learning in performing arts including classroom music instrumental music dance and drama Building the confidence and abilities of students to be articulate think and act creatively and to use technology as part of their everyday lives provides them with the skills to face a bright and demanding future
I hope families and businesses will support this agenda by subscribing generously to the Tax Deductible Building Fund that will be promoted at the start of the year
New BIG Screens in the Auditorium
The auditorium has been closed at the start of this week to allow the installation of two large video screens either side of the stage They are linked to a state of the art digital control panel that promises greater reliability and quality than the current system The PampC funded this to the tune of $27 000 making great use of some of the funds raised this year
We will now be able to see the images of our wonderful Year 6s as their recorded images and speeches are presented at the Year 6 Farewell
Thankyou Brad and the PampC

Poem anthology by 6JWhellip FREE VERSE POEM
6JW students are doing an anthology full of many different poems One poem is a free verse Free verse is one of the simplest and yet most difficult type of poetry to write While it doesnrsquot constrict the poet with rules about form it requires him or her to work hard at creating a piece that is beautiful and meaningful without any specific guidelines about rhyme and meter
Free Verse Poem by Vlad 6JW
I was walking down the street
Minding my own business as the birds give a tweet
The loud echo goes bouncing down the street
As I walk with the beat
The cars give a hoot and the cows give a moo
As I walk on the highway
Past the farm
What is that I hear
Oh no

AT THE BEACH
On Tuesday for Year 5 camp we went to the beach We all were split up into three groups to play some games I was in group two There were three games Blindfolded Relays Howzat and A to B
The first game group two played was Blindfolded Relays It was where two people would go out onto the track and one person was blindfolded and the other was a guide The person who was blindfolded had a baton and had to run to the cone (blindfolded) and back They had to hand it to the next blindfolded person The first team to go out twice and sit down was the winner The tricky thing was that the guide could not touch the blindfolded person only give verbal directions
Game two was called Howzat It was similar to cricket except you just had to throw a ball at the stumps If you hit the wicket you had to yell out lsquoHowzatrsquo
The last game we played was my favourite game It was called A to B There was a stick placed horizontally on the sand You had to dig a hole under it but you could only dig from one side ndash Point A Your whole team had to crawl under the stick to get to Point B If you touched the stick everyone in the team had to run down to the water then back and start again
I had a really enjoyable time at camp and I am looking forward to Year 6 camp next year Nick 5PH

LIBRARY BAGS
All students need to bring a library bag to protect the books If you donrsquot already have one the school library bag is available from the PampC Uniform shop No matter what age your child is water bottles still leak items are jammed in bags quickly and it will invariably rain at 300 pm as theyrsquore heading home Please make sure your child has a bag to protect the books Itrsquos a great idea to put an easily identifiable key ring tag or ribbon on their bag as they are so similar they are often mixed up
SEEKING DONATIONS
As there will be no more plastic bags next year we would like to get a collection of second hand bags at the library so we can lend them out on a temporary basis instead of the plastic bags that we currently reuse now So if you are leaving the school and donrsquot have plans for your childrsquos library bag when they finish please ask them to bring it to the library after this week when borrowing is finished for the year
Keep on Reading Mrs Robertson amp Mrs Callow
