Welcome back to Term 2 and whilst we are still going into a term full of unknowns, we do hope that you have had an opportunity to spend time doing things that you enjoy for both yourself and with your family.

Again, we thought it useful to use the newsletter to respond to some of the questions that have been coming in via our Facebook pages and emails over the holidays.

There is talk about a phased return to school. What is that all about ? There are 5 phases of how we will be returning back to normal. This has been attached to this newsletter.

For the next 2 weeks, we are at Phase 0. This means that schools are open only for families who need it. Parents are encouraged to keep children at home if possible. Students who do attend school during the next 2 weeks are supervised only, and are not in their regular class.

What is Phase 1 and when will we move to it? Phase 1 has students at school for at least one day a week. This will begin in Week 3 - Monday 11th May. Our school has used family groupings ie House Groups, to determine which days children will come to school. Children are put into a house by their surname.

Monday : Christie (Surname A-D) Tuesday: Brann (Surname E-J) Wednesday: Marks (Surname K-Q) Thursday: Stanton (Surname R-Z)

The NSW DOE will advise schools when we move to the next phase.

Are all of our teachers at school and who will teach my child when they attend school ? Our teachers and School Learning Support officers are still working flexibly - some days at home and some days at school. Children at school will not have their normal teacher for several weeks.

How can I get the learning pack for my child ? We have moved to digital remote learning and will upload activities into our SeeSaw platform everyday for our students. Please contact us ASAP if you are unable to log in, have misplaced the log in details or just need help. You can contact us by phone, email or facebook. We have people ready to help!

We will still be offering a paper pack for kids who do not have digital devices. They can be collected from 2.00pm today.

When are the digital devices coming ? We do not know yet. Our order of 150 extra iPads is still in the system. As soon as we have them we will let families, who requested one, know when to pick up the digital devices Paul Smith, Principal

So many of you have been sending in photos of what you’ve been doing at home - and we love it! Here are some of the pictures which landed on our new Facebook page during the last week of Term 1.

You’ve been reading, creating meal planners and staying committed to Wacky Wednesday! When learning inside has run its course, plenty of you have been going out for a family walk.

It’s fun seeing where you’ve set up to work at home. For some of you that might be the dining room table or outside on the deck and for others, an office-style set-up like this one. We know it’s very different to being in the classroom but cool that you can still get stuck into some Mathletics and Reading Eggs. Keep going - you’re doing great!

LIKE us @AlburyNorthPS

We love seeing what you’ve been doing at home so if you’d like to be in the newsletter, head to the ANPS Teachers page on Facebook and send us a photo. That’s also the best place to ask questions and keep up-to-date with the latest information about remote learning. During term time, we’ll be online to answer questions from 8.40am-3.30pm, Monday to Friday.

There has been an explosion of home cooking projects judging by the photos we’ve been sent. From working in the garden, to harvesting the crops, preparing a meal and then eating it, you’ve been making some yummy food. We hope your family members enjoyed it and make sure you save the recipe to share with your teacher one day! Here are some of our favourite pictures.

Getting to know…

Mrs STEVENS

1. If you could have one song played every time you entered a room, what would it be? Guns N’ Roses - Sweet Child O’ Mine.

2. What does your perfect breakfast look like? Outside, near water, with my fam bam. Drinking a chai with poached eggs and Xavier Rudd playing quietly in the background. How

perfect does that sound?

3. Who lives in your house? It’s a zoo, not a house! Kade (my husband), Marli, Manny, Bonnie, Judd and Nellie (my kiddies) and Gibson, Marshall and Zuzi (our naughty dogs).

4. What do you want to do when you retire? Travel in a Kombi van with my hubby… running, surfing, swimming, yoga-ing and eating our way around Australia.

5. Tell us something we wouldn’t know about you. I am quite an open book but some people may not know that I found my wedding dress within an hour, arrived at my wedding in a truck and got married in bare feet. Our first dance as husband and wife was to Bron-Y-Aur Stomp by Led Zeppelin.

6. Where’s your favourite place to nap? That’s easy. A hammock somewhere quiet.

In other news…

Have you completed the Sock Squat Slam yet? If not, it’s time to head to our Facebook page to check out Mr Lindner’s latest PE challenge. There’s a video which explains everything and there’s even a demonstration - plus the time you need to beat.

Race against a member of your family or just grab a stopwatch and see if you can beat your fastest time. Upload your videos to Seesaw.

Good morning families! Remote learning packs, our school newsle9er and a seedling will be available to pick up under the COLA today at 2pm.

The newsle9er and remote learning will also be available on our school website.

Our technology order has not arrived yet. We will contact the families who indicated they needed an iPad, computer or WiFi access once the order arrives.

If you have borrowed library books from school, you can keep them unHl Week 3. Students can then borrow and return books on their rostered day at school each week. We will also provide access to an online library for students. More informaHon to come!
