    General structure

Safety statements include the following structural elements:

    Item Structure element Purpose

1 Safety alert symbol Indicates the potential for personal injury

    (optional)

2 Safety symbol Indicates hazard type (optional)

3 Signal word Indicates the severity of the hazard

4 Hazard type Describes the source of the risk of damage or

    injury

5 Safety message Consequences if protective measures fail

6 Avoidance message Protective measures to take to avoid the hazard

7 Identifier The reference ID of the safety statement

    (optional)

    Signal words

The signal words identify the hazard severity levels as follows:

  • Corrective maintenance activity

    Corrective maintenance

The network maintenance is based on the supervision of the network, by using the OAM

graphical interface. For more information, refer to Alcatel-Lucent 9353 Wireless

Management System - User Guide, NN-20500-032.

It is also based on the identification and replacement of faulty items of equipment, using

    the alarms.

The process is divided into the following two steps:

Locating and identifying the faulty items of equipment, by using the information

provided in Alcatel-Lucent 9353 Wireless Management System - Node B Alarms

    Reference Guide for 9311, 9312, 9322, 9326, 9332 Node B, NN-20500-018P1

Replacing the faulty items of equipment, by using the replacement procedures given

    in this document

Note: The iModules replacement procedures described in this guide are based on the

    following assumptions:

Your 9326 d2U V2 is equipped with the following digital modules:

One iCCM-U upgraded with the specific adapter board and front panel (iCCM-U

    V2)

One xCEM-U (mandatory) and possibly up to two additional xCEMs-U

Possibly up to two iCEMs-U upgraded with the specific adapter boards and front

    panels (iCEMs-U V2)

    Description of a replacement procedure

A replacement procedure is divided into the following parts:

    The title

The main body with the following information:

    The intervention time

    The tools required

The impact of the procedure, if necessary

The step-by-step actions of the procedure

One or more figures are provided to help you execute the actions. They show the FRU

schematically and its location in the cabinet.

    Intervention restrictions

There may be a lapse of time between the identification of the alarm at the Access OAM

Graphic User Interface (GUI) and the time you arrive at the site.

You must be synchronized with the access network controller or system administrator (by

telephone) before an on-site intervention, in the following cases:

    Isolating procedures

    Completion of an on-site intervention

  • 9326 d2U V2 introduction

    The 9326 d2U V2 is the enhanced 9326 d2U rack supporting xModules (xCEM-U,

xCCM-U). It is designed to be connected to one of the following products via optical

    fiber links:

    RRH60-21

    RRH40-AWS

    RRH40-21

    RRH40-08

    RRH40-19

    RRH20-21

    9332 rCompact

The iModules (iCEM-U, iCCM-U) can be plugged in this 9326 d2U V2 rack, using

specific adapter boards and front panels.

xCEM-U and iCEM-U modules can be mixed inside the 9326 d2U V2 rack. The 9326

d2U V2 rack is factory-equipped with one xCCM-U or one iCCM-U (in slot 1), one

xCEM-U (in slot 2) and two fillers. Depending on the capacity requirements, the 9326

d2U V2 rack can host two xCEMs-U, two iCEMs-U, or one xCEM-U and one iCEM-U

in place of the two fillers (slot 3 and slot 4).

The Alcatel-Lucent Remote Radio solution improves flexibility for deploying mobile

broadband Node Bs in space-constrained locations. It is particularly suited to

macro-cellular applications in dense areas, where site acquisition is difficult, and on sites

where installation constraints prevent the use of legacy Node Bs.

Compared to legacy Node B site deployment, the Remote Radio solution provides the

    following benefits:

Reduced volume, weight, footprint, acoustic noise, and power consumption

Reduced cost of feeder paths from the Node B to the antenna

Increased RF power per carrier at the antenna feeder

Reduced radio loss with use of the remote RF block concept, which eliminates the

distance between the radio amplifier and the antenna

The Remote Radio solution provides for the UMTS system:

The means of communication between a User Equipment (UE) and a network using

    Transport Channels

Physical layer channels, which are necessary to synchronize the downlink and

perform cell selection/reselection and handover preparation

Measurement information to the RNC for radio resource management (handover,

    power control)

The 9326 d2U V2 provides up to eight E1/T1 with Inversion Multiplexing ATM (IMA) or

    Drop-and-Insert capability (fractional E1/T1). The 9326 d2U V2 also supports

    multi-PCM without IMA.

  • The 9326 d2U V2 delivers high UMTS radio performances and supports the enhanced

High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) and High Speed Uplink Packet Access

(HSUPA) solutions through easy software upgrade.

The 9326 d2U V2 is compliant with the Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI).

The 9326 d2U V2 can be installed in a standalone indoor mode or in an existing indoor or

    outdoor Alcatel-Lucent 9100 Multi-Standard Base Station cabinet for multi-standard

    configuration.

Moreover, the 9326 d2U V2 can be integrated in a small or a medium Power Supply Unit

  • DANGER

    Laser hazard

This equipment operates with invisible laser radiation. Laser radiation can cause

    considerable injuries to the eyes.

Never look into the end of an exposed fiber or into an open optical connector when the

optical source is switched on. Always observe the laser warning instructions.

    NOTICE

    ESD hazard

Electronic components can be destroyed by electrostatic discharge (ESD).

Hold circuit packs only at the edges or on the insertion and removal facilities.

Always observe the general ESD instructions.

    NOTICE

    Service-disruption hazard

Following the procedure below will result in a loss of service.

    Procedure

    ...................................................................................................................................................................................................

1 Important! There will be a loss of service on the Remote Radio device(s) associated

    with the xCCM-U being replaced.

Lock all the objects associated with the Remote Radio devices connected to the faulty

xCCM-U at the OMC by Set Administrative State.
