Alexander Bernhardt Schilha Projection Squad. "Al, a quiet member of the senior class, is an ac- cordian player and spends much of his spare time squeezing out melodies. The remainder of his time "Al" spends working on his stamp collection. Like all boys, good food is popular twenty-four hours a day with him. As far as cars go, Buicks head his list and "Al" couldn't do without a T. V. set. "Alex"considersTime magazine, history and English, necessary burdens we all must bear. Although "Al's" future is uncertain, he will prob- ably enter some part of the field of engineering. She enjoys riding and caring for her own horse, "Scout," but also has many other hobbies including coin and stamp collecting, drawing, and painting. Also among her versatile interests are sewing, cooking, and basketball-boys' or girls', it makes no difference. How- ever, Carol is not so fond of hockey. Penn State will welcome this member of the class of '53. Elizabeth Emily Smyth Service Club; G.A.A. The class of '53 welcomed "Betsy" in our Junior year. She came to us from Westfield and soon took an active part in S.P.H.S. She enjoys outdoor activities and finds nothing more fun than a long hike. Various church activities also claim a good bit of her time. There is a soft spot in her heart for almost all animals so what could be more natural than her chosen ambition to train dogs for the blind? Best of luck, "Betsy," in a most worthy occupation. Jr. Honor Society; Sr. National Honor Society; Band; Orchestra; Moonglowers; Basketball; Football; Jr. Play; Culmen. When a resounding roll on the drums is heard, no one but "Dan" could be responsible for it. As an in- dispensable member of our Music Dept., he has done a marvelous job. He is fond of horses and Le Roy Anderson records, and is wild about Vermont. Next year "Dan" plans to study Veterinary medicine at Cornell. With his likable personality and fondness for animals he is sure to make a fine "Vet." 33
