-Steven Saltmarsh, Farm Manager for Rob & Jo Bradley (former manager for Grant & Kim

Archer); 2011 and 2012 ANZ Dairy Business of the year winner for Tasmania and Australian farmer

of the year (2012).

Conversion farm, 402,597kgMS, 940 cows, Evandale and Longford farms, Tasmania, Australia.

“Alexis has helped our business to improve pasture management. This has contributed to improved cow

movement in our robotic milking farm, which is the main driver of the system. Application of Alexis’ sound

knowledge of the robotic milking system and his broad understanding of farm systems would be highly

beneficial for any farm considering employing the robotic milking system or improving their farm systems

and profitability.” We strongly recommend Alexis.”

-Marcus Crowden, business owner: Tasmanian focus farmer 2015-2016 (250,000 kgMS, 500 cows,

Western Creek, Tasmania).

“Alexis has helped us to focus on areas that needed improvements in our business, specifically, financial

management, feed budgeting and farm policies. Alexis assisted in refining communication methods and

building business structures with our other share farming business. Alexis also has coached our family in

terms of finding ways to have more balance between business, family and lifestyle areas. Alexis is always

ready to answer the phone (or return your call) to discuss issues that arise in a timely manner in order to

seek solutions. In addition, we are part of the Confidential Business Discussion group that Alexis facilitates,

which we have benefited from enormously, enjoyed and found very stimulating. I strongly recommend

Alexis to any farmer that is looking to improve their business and is open to new ideas.

-Neil and Leanne Innes-Smith, Business Owners, 461,000kgMS, 1,300 cows, Edith Creek, Tasmania.

“Alexis brings a variety of ideas on how to operate and grow businesses based on his global dairy

experiences. He has helped our farm to grow by 11% in milk production this season (2015-16) during one

of the biggest droughts in Tasmanian history. Alexis consistently encourages us to be proactive and he

challenges our thinking with his ‘can do approach.’ He has helped us in establishing a robust business in

order to remain profitable and sustainable over the long term by looking into investing in home grown feed

(i.e. summer crops and pasture renovation), irrigation, effluent systems and support block land

development. Alexis has also assisted in enhancing our communication with our son who share farms

(50/50) and us as owners of the land and infrastructure. Alexis taught us that we need to measure everything

that moves, moos or grow in order to manage it properly. He believes that focusing on home grown feed

and harvest and cost control are key factors in building resilience in dairy farm business, which is a

philosophy we strongly agree with. We highly recommend Alexis’ services to any farmers who are open to

being challenged and eager to grow and improve their businesses.”

-Hayden Matthews (share farmer), and Glenn and Racheal Matthews (land owners), Business

Owners, 110,000 kgMS, 260 cows, Circular Head, Tasmania.

“Alexis’ combination of work ethic and dairy farming knowledge make him an excellent advisor. He makes

thorough recommendations and acts as a strong sounding board for business. He has a great networking

ability and is an excellent ambassador for the dairy industry in Tasmania. I strongly recommend Alexis as

a dairy advisor.”

-John & Emma Innes-Smith, 50/50 Sharefarmers, 115,300 kgMS, 330 cows, Edith Creek, Circular

Head, Tasmania.

“Alexis has a great understanding of what drives profit in agriculture. I operate a small beef farm of 50

hectares in Lapoinya. Alexis implemented strategies to help my current small business to remain profitable

and sustainable into the future by focusing on home grown feed. He helped me to implement an agronomy

plan based on growing fodder crops and pasture renovation as well as using Gibberellic Acid and fertilizer

strategically. In addition, Alexis assisted in the development of a robust feed and pasture management

program and cash flow budget that helped the farm to endure one of the biggest droughts in

Tasmanian history. I recommend Alexis to any beef or agribusiness farmer who is willing to take the

business to the next level.”

-Grant Muir, Business Owner, Beef Enterprise, Lapoinya, Tasmania

“Alexis has helped us to grow our business from 200 to 350 cows by using his strategic management skills

and focus on targets. He enabled us to fine-tune our business management and implemented tactical

implement thorough strategies to grow their business.”

-Scott and Pam Brown, Business Owners, 140,000 kgMS, 350 cows, Hagley, Tasmania.

setting up a profitable farm system based on a plan, monitor and review process. Specifically Alexis helped

set up systems that enabled the business to increase pasture consumption and he monitored our finances

effectively to keep our costs under control. Alexis’ broad knowledge of the dairy industry is bottomless. His

24-hour reporting policy framework and thorough recommendations allow us to keep focused. We highly

recommend Alexis to anyone looking to increase the profitability of their business.”
