What documents should I submit via ALG Student Portal?
Step 1: Refer to the following table to find out the type of documents you need to submit to
our Work Placement Consultants for your arrangement of work placement.
You are only required to submit documents via Student Portal that are stated as ‘Required’. At
times, our College may receive request from our nominated Host Employers for submission of
additional documents before agreeing to take in our students. Hence, our Work Placement
Consultants will reach out to you via email for documents that are stated as ‘Only Upon
Request’ if they receive such requests from our nominated Host Employers.
How do I login to ALG Student Portal?
Step 2: Login to ALG Student Portal alg.edu.au/studentportal with your Student ID and
Password. Please approach your Student Services Team for assistance if you cannot locate your Student ID and
Password.
Step 3: Click on Timetable & Results tab and then click on Assessment button. Please ensure you allow pop ups from your internet browser to see the next screen.

Step 4: Select Work Placement Preparation class.

How do I submit a document?
Step 5: Click on Action button of each document that you need to submit. The due date is in
Sydney Local Time.

• Read Work Placement Student Guide (applicable for all students)
I. Click on this link alg.edu.au/docs/workplacement_student_guide.pdf and read through the
Work Placement Student Guide
II. Type ‘I have read and understand the contents of the Work Placement Student Guide.’ word
document or notepad
III. Save the document in your computer and upload the document via Student Portal
• Apply and submit Working With Children Check – WWCC (only applicable for students enrolled
in Early Childhood Education & Care, Diploma of Community Services and Diploma of Mental
Health)
I. Click on this link alg.edu.au/docs/wwcc.pdf to find out the steps involved in applying for
WWCC in the location of your study.
II. Apply for WWCC in the location of your study
III. Upload the clearance letter via Student Portal (only applicable for NSW)
IV. Take a photo of your card and upload via Student Portal (only applicable for VIC, WA and
QLD).
What actions do I need to take?

• Update Profile in Student Portal (applicable for all students)
i. Review your residential address and update if required in the Student Portal
ii. Type ‘I have reviewed and confirmed the residential address in the Student Portal is correct.’
in a word document or notepad
iii. Save the document in your computer and upload the document via Student Portal
• Watch Video Presentation (applicable for all students)

II. Type ‘I have watched the College’s video presentation on Work Placement.’ in word document
or notepad.
III. Save the document in your computer and upload the document via Student Portal
What actions do I need to take?

• Apply and submit Australian National Police Check (only applicable for students enrolled in
Certificate III in Individual Support, Certificate IV in Ageing Support, Diploma of Community
Services and Diploma of Mental Health)
I. Apply online for a national police check through one of the accredited bodies listed on the
Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) website - www.acic.gov.au/our-
services/national-police-checking-service/find-out-more-information/accredited-
bodies#accordion-1
II. Upload national police check via Student Portal
• Upload resume (only applicable for students enrolled in Diploma of Community Services and
Diploma of Mental Health)

II. Upload resume via Student Portal
Step 6: Click on Choose File button to upload your document (i.e. most file types are accepted
and maximum allowed file size is 20MB), read and tick to acknowledge the Declaration statement
and finally click on Submit button to submit your assessment.

Documents that have been successfully submitted will be highlighted in green. Your
submission will be routed to our Work Placement Consultants for review.
How do I submit a document after the due date?
The submission steps are the same except that you are required to click Yes when you receive the
following prompt.

Can I re-upload a document once I have submitted?
You can re-upload the entire document if your original submission has not been selected for
review and the system will label the original document as ‘old’. Our Work Placement
Consultants will only review the latest file you upload.
