About me…10th year of teaching (have taught all
middle school grade levels)8th year in Millstone, spent 2 years
teaching in the middle school I attended as a child (Linden, NJ)
Love math & teaching itExcited to be a new mom & join
your ranks, but sad to have to leave my students—your children.
Course Description
This course prepares students for the NJASK, high school, and real-life.

Wrap up and make sure assigned HW is understood.
New schedule—alternating 44/88 minute periods.
BindersDue to the nature of the program, binder organization is crucial, however I encourage the development of personal organization skills.
I have suggested to your child organizing his/her binder using the following sections:
•Notes & Classwork—includes vocabulary, examples, and “notes”. Encouraged to record date and topic/assignment each day as a way of organizing this information.
•Homework—someplace to easily find and keep HW assigned and checked.
•Tests & Quizzes – keep all quizzes and tests until binder clean out (then transfer to a folder at home)—there is a final exam and these help to study.
GradesHW/CW/Preparedness–20%
HW is assigned most nights. NO WORK = NO CREDIT HW is posted on board and on my website. Planner, Binder, Pencils should be brought to class daily.
Planner is also used for as a bathroom pass/log Homework scores start at 100. Five points are deducted for missing
HW assignments, 1 point is deducted for each time a student is unprepared for class.
Tests/Quizzes/Projects – 80% Each assessment will be worth a different point value that is
standard throughout the department/grade level. Tests will be weighted heavier than quizzes.
Extra Credit (only included on tests/quizzes)
No signatures necessary—online access to all grades
PowerSchoolI will no longer be using grade sheets or having
tests signed! You can update yourself about your child’s
progress by logging on to PowerSchool. Please allow me adequate time to grade your
child’s work—I do give partial credit and grade work shown, so grading tests can be somewhat time consuming, but it is in the best interest of your child.
I will do my best to update and publish grades as soon as assignments are corrected. HW will be updated weekly.
