General Comment: Good effort Alice to complete all 3 elements by the deadline.

Cover:

y  Cut the full stop from your title and stretch so across the page. Bar code too small.

y  I like the way you have positioned the model layer in front of the masthead, this gives a

more dimensional feel to your cover.

y  Photo needs reshooting as pixelated in quality and model is red and squinting (sorry!).

Also badly cut out in places.

y  Colour palette looks unprofessional especially with the oversized coverlines and crosses.

Introduce a 3rd

colour would help.

y  Experiment with other typography, I can only see one font on your front cover. Most

magazines have 3 to 4 different fonts this will help make your magazine appear more

exciting.y  Think about the way you have laid your text out it appears more like a contents page

than a front cover. Be creative and experiment a little with where you position your text

and maybe try using effects.

Contents:

y  Contents page is better.

y  Main photo though does need changing as again poor quality photography and

manipulation. Other photos need to look more fitting with the genre as look like social

networking poses.

y  You could consider using the background from your images as long as the mise en scene

is appropriate.

y  Once again try experimenting with different fonts.

y  Decrease size of numbers and be consistent in the size of font anchoring your photos.

the information in the contents box at the bottom need to be smaller with more added

in.

y  The orange numbers blend into the background, maybe try bevelling the text or

dropping a shadow to enhance them.

y  All the text here needs to be on one page so make your text smaller, align your columns and

organise.

y  Really like the idea of the roll of photos but make smaller to make them part of the whole

page. This will stop the top box looking too cut up.y  Photos on roll need reshooting for variety and without the hand in the way.

y  With your photos try enhancing the brightness/contrast and colour levels to create a more

glossy polished finish or even try turning your image to black and white.

y  Costume change from the front cover needed.

y  Again maybe try experimenting with the text Sapphire, seems flat and once again blends in

try using effects to make it stand out.
