Recent activities during cavern access

• Access 13/8 (12:00 to 15:00):– TRD: tighten LV connections (C-side BKF sector 1, 10,17)– EMCal: RCU card replacement

• Access 16/8 (13:00 to 16:00):– TRD: sense connector fixed on O-rack– EMCal: trigger board problem– T0: inspection rack area

LHC technical stop 30th Aug – 2nd Sep

• Schedule:– Switch off both magnets: Mon 8:00 (shift leader to call CCC)

– RP search (including L3 and Dipole): Mon 8:30 – 9:00 (Fernando + Yannick)

– Start cavern access: Mon 9:15

– Close cavern: Thu 16:00

• Maintenance access system – Monday from 13h00 to 17h30. Access via guardian at entrance Px24

– Cavern patrol from 17h30 to 18h00 (No access during that time) then back to restricted and access as foreseen

• Maintenance PX24 lift (AS703) (J.P. Lappe):– Wed 6:00 – 8:00 – no Access to UX-25

– Intervention for upgrade of buttons scheduled in October (lift will be stopped outside normal hours)

• ADA: connect and power-up detector (ADI 4435105)

• TRD: access to L3 for power line investigation (ADI 4443306)

• TOF: replacement of two DC-DC converters (ADI 4439810)

• HMPID: replacement pneumatic valve

• EMCal: check LTU problem (ADI 4439838)

• PHOS: inspect condensation coming from cooling pipe PHOS #3 (ADI 4441269)

• Muon Trigger: Open one half plane outside and access the FEE on the top RPC. Need scaffolding. (ADI 4440672)

• Muon Tracker: (ADI 4442388) 

- Upgrade of firmware/software on Crocus

- Upgrade of firmware/software on Trigger dispatcher. – Need ladder or scaffolding 

• TPC: Maintenance electronic (ADI 4440829)

LHC technical stop 30th Aug – 2nd SepCV/DETCOOL Interventions – J.Botelho Direito and P.Bonneau

• SSD/SDD: replacement ALICAT supply-pressure regulator S2 (31st Aug)

• HMPID: check level transmitter (1st Sep)

• SPD (ADI 4437693) (31st Aug - or 30th if possible):– Test redundant pump

– Inspection compressor

– Modification PLC program:• Remove automatic switch-over to the redundant pump in case of alarm

• Implement remote control of compressor and pump

• Run interlock from the detector

• The station will be automatically interlocked in case of alarm and the reset will be possible only after the detector operator will have removed the interlock. This will avoid unexpected restart: CV will be able to reset the cooling station only after the formal agreement from the detector operator on duty

Didier:– Repair lock L3 door

Frederick:– Humidity/temperature sensors L3 (both injection and extraction) – Visula check of racks in cavern and water

leak system control

Philippe:– Cabling 4 temperature sensors L3 jacket UW to MCR (SPIE)– Install new lights inside L3

• Transport team– Reload nacelles batteries

Workshop activities

• Modify TRD I-bar (Didier):– Cut + machine holes → wk 35– Test rotator + yellow-platform → wk 36

• TRD infrastructure (top modules):– Painting (Didier) in September– Integration test (with module) delayed end year

• Miniframe suspension tool (Didier):– Fabrication in September

• New Delphi Frame support (Yannick, Samuel):– Integration with Delphi Frame and load test ongoing (see next slide)

• New ITS table:– Fabrication drawings and final validation wk 34– Fabrication (Yannic) will start in September

• EMCal manifolds (Ben, Philippe):– 2/10 manifolds assembled and brazed. Ongoing
